This wheel tells a story. I think it's "I'm not good at figuring out where the right side of my car is".

I quite liked that he crashed into some armco, you know, stuff designed to allow for a safer, more controlled impact - and it was too high, his main crash structure/front beam slipped under it and the bonnet, left headlight and wing took the whole hit. Kind of defeats the purpose, really. I don't think he was going at all fast, luckily, it didn't set the bags off and he was completely unharmed.

Robert Kubica agrees with your questioning of how safe armco really is.

So, I had the fortune to go to the Tokyo motor show. Among all the awesome, I found this gem at the Toyota area.

Yes, it's denim or something so close to it I couldn't tell it apart by feel alone. The body under it is some black protective coat. Most of the inside is also denim with a couple bits that looked like leather but I didn't feel like fighting to get inside.

This just raises questions for me. For example, does it shrink in a summer shower? Do you take it to a carwash or laundry matt? Is it for sale? It had a price sticker on it for what would be about $27k USD, however googling comes up basically empty.

This begs a couple of questions.

1) Porsche makes a space saver spare for 911s? My Cayman just came with a can of slime.
2) 911s are often regarded as unstable in the rear (they're not really), what does this do to the handling?

During the 25 Hours of Thunderhill at about 10:30pm, the driver of this Miata ran out of gas on the back straight short of the pits. He turned to get off the race track. He did not see the cars at speed on the racing line. Two cars managed to dive to safety. The third car (Mazda 6 Diesel) did not. He was evacuated with a collapsed lung but is otherwise okay.

Dude was loving lucky. Seat was stamped metal, slightly bent and partially in the passenger side of the car.

I'm guessing by the fact that it says electric the solar panel is there to supplement plug-in batteries. I'd be curious to know why someone clever enough to rig up an electric car would angle the solar panel like that, though.

I mean the sheer amount of drag it must add must counteract whatever benefit the solar panel has.
