I want to have my cake and eat it too. 30mpg, wagon, 400hp, AWD/RWD and a manual transmission. Is my best bet just getting a 2.0/2.5 turbo WRX wagon and throwing a huge turbo on there and tuning it and hoping to get close to 30mpg? I can't think of anything else that could come close to all those criteria.

Nice looking car. I didn't realize they made these in manuals and wagons. MY GIRLFRIEND has an 2007 NA AT one and as a passenger there doesn't seem to be much leg room but I haven't driven it much. Might have to try to find a GT manual wagon...

There's one 26 miles away according to autotrader. 8k seems cheap, but it has over 100k miles.

I'm still not convinced these count as wagons, but it is a way to start the addiction.

I don't get how it isn't? Does it need more glass and cargo space for you? No, it's no buick roadmaster but I think it fits the description just fine.

I want a wagon for 4-5k. I've been looking at A4 Avants with the 1.8t/manual/quattro or the v6 (http://phoenix.craigslist.org/nph/cto/3817832587.html)... is this what I want or should I look at a Forester or Outback?

Usage is a DD and sometimes pulling a small HF trailer with my Triumph 675 to a track within the surrounding 800mi. I don't really like how the Volvos look and the E39 BMWs get total poo poo gas mileage (I had one).

Overkill, but awesome. And half the price!

I bought another wagon, meaning wagon count is up to 3 (2.5 since the Subaru got rolled)! Its a 96 Saturn SW2, 5 speed, 217K and is white. Not at all worth taking a picture of.

How much oil does it burn? That's the only thing that sucked about my Saturn SL2. Otherwise I liked it quite a bit.

Wait, it's not the right color to be a V is it? The CTS V Wagon is the most insane and awesome thing ever and I will be sad when it dies and doesn't come back.

Enjoy the ride and take good care of her.

It's not a V.

Wasn't knocking it, they're nice cars. And the V6 is a decent engine in it's own right.

I love the V but god drat is the gas mileage terrible. I've driven a couple of them and it's a freaking rocket ship but 14/19 mpg hurts. I'd probably buy the V6 wagon before the V, sadly. :(

That's on Progress coilovers, 14" HX wheels and snow tires. I can get two fingers under the front mudflaps, and it definitely scrapes. Do I bring it up? Trim the mudflaps? Remove them? Counsel me, o merry band of esteemed terrible ricers.

I'd raise it up if the ride is harsh. If you're in an area where you don't have terrible roads or winter, just remove the mud flaps.

How do you really wash a car/anything with plastidip? The surface isn't really smooth and I feel like it would be impossible to clean very well without peeling it off.

New pads, turned rotors, and Motul RBF 600 for the -V today. Pads - for both axles - a whopping $50 delivered by Amazon Prime. Some quirk in the Matrix means pads for these big Brembos are dirt cheap.

This all in preparation for the Virginia City Hillclimb this weekend. May be the only wagon representing! Pics/cool poo poo to follow.

Nice deal. The brembos I had on my V1 were common on a bunch of cars (evo, 350z, etc) and were loving nuts. With SS lines and HP+ pads it would nearly break my neck just sneezing on the the pedal. I had to go back to stock pads because it was too aggressive for street driving. :allears:

^ I always liked the 6 wagon though I think it's weird they only came in V6s. Congrats on the purchase. :)

Blacked out and cleaned up my wagon a bit. Plastidipped the mirrors, wheels, and grill. Then clayed and sealed the paint, polished the headlights and sealed them up with polyurethane/mineral spirits mix. There's a big thread about using it on autogeek, thought I'd try it and should prevent them yellowing. Also cleaned out the interior and took enough enough dog hair from the previous owner that would make up a small dog. :barf: It smells a little better inside but I might still pick up an ozone generator.
