I recently reset my 3ds settings to factory default. Do I need to re download the 1.2 update for Pokemon Y or is that modified on the cart itself?

Awesome! posted:it's saved on the sd card i believe. you can check for it in system settings. The SD card was wiped too as part of the reformat.

So tomorrow can I just buy the lovely off-brand charger at Gamestop and turn that in with my 3ds xl so I can get the $100 credit toward the new 3dsxl? Because gently caress you if I'm turning in my actual charger.

So is it best to manually format a brand new SD card prior to putting it into the new 3ds or can I just take it right out of the packaging and put it in? I've heard conflicting things.
