I have a nice lull from school work coming up soon and was looking for an anime to watch during this time. Now I'm fairly new to anime so any recommendations in the top/god tier would be appreciated. From the shows I've seen, which are listed below, I have preference for awesome, actiony, funny, and cool poo poo. However I am open to pretty much anything as long as it is good. If an anime has a really good dub or a really bad dub please give me a heads up so I can decide to watch the dub or the sub because I am fine with either.

The Anime I have watched from most liked to disliked in order:

Jojo's Bizarre Adventure: Pure distilled manliness and my favorite anime. I absolutely love Joseph and was hooked at Battle Tendency and like Stardust Crusader's even more.

Steins;Gate: Really funny, interesting characters, and a pretty good story about Time Travel. Mayuri is ridiculously adorable and I'm glad I watched the dub.

Attack On Titan: My friends said it was boring over hyped trash and after watching it I realized my friends have lovely opinions about anime, or they're hipsters maybe. A pretty interesting and bleak setting, good action, and a strong female character (in my opinion at least).

Fate/Stay Night (Unlimited Blade Works): I don't have a lot to say about this I just know i like it... the action is really flashy and it looks pretty. I have a bad feeling that the show is going to go into weird harem poo poo however with Saber and Rin.

Persona 4 The Animation: My gateway drug into anime *sigh I really like the games so of course I like the anime. Dub is way better than subs in this case.

Death Note: The first 1/3 or so is really good but the quality takes a nosedive after Light loses memory of the Death Note and it never fully recovers.

Fate/Zero: Kiritsugu is pretty interesting and Iksander is great.

Bleach: I'm indifferent to Bleach. It took me an embarrassingly long amount of time before I realized I didn't really like it. Johnny Yong Bosch is cool and I like his :airquote: vast :airquote: range in all his roles.

Persona 4 The Golden Animation: This is really bad and I can't even recommend it to hardcore Persona fans because of how loving boring it is. Marie is not a bad character in the games but she sure as hell is here.

Sword Art Online: I only watched the first season but that is more than enough for me. Good premise and the show was good to passable in the first ark. Second ark was boring as gently caress, sexualized a 15 year old, and had her pine over her goony cousin, seriously what the gently caress. Oh also tentacles and a young girl; loving fantastic :downs:

Thanks dudes, I think I'm gonna watch Cowboy Bebop and Baccano after that. I will do a trip report I suppose.

Watch Monster. It's a good slow burn and the way it treats it's characters and how it creates tension is fantastic. I'm 10 episodes away from the ending and if it sticks the landing it will be one of the best things I have ever watched.

Sorry, I missed the part where the thread said there was a good adaptation of the beginning stuff, and I remembered that there was apparently a very bad adaptation, so I wasn't sure if that was something I needed to read before watching Stardust Crusaders.

26 episodes sounds perfect though, so I will definitely start from the beginning.

Episode 3 is when it clicked for me and I realized "HOLY gently caress THIS poo poo IS AWESOME!" And it just keeps getting more and more awesome from there.

Since Final Fantasy XV is basically an anime road trip it got me wondering if there were any good animes about road trips. Any suggestions?

Edit: other than Stardust Crusaders

If you're down for reading comics Steel Ball Run is also pretty awesome. Because it's long as gently caress and revels in whatever the Japanese version of Americana is 20th Century Boys has a roadtrip arc that ends the comic and is awesome as gently caress, but the whole comic isn't about a road trip, it just contains a road trip that happens to be the length of many existing comics.

Most straight road trip stuff I can think of that isn't part of a bigger whole is kinda lovely stuff like Saiyuki, Kenran Butōsai, and, uh, Golden Boy (the porniest non-porn anime ever). I guess if you stretch the definition HunterxHunter and One Piece could count.

I'm waiting for Stardust Crusaders to finish up and then I'm going to read the Manga in order starting from Diamond is Unbreakable. Thanks for the rec though.

As soon as I finish up Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood I'm going to check out Michiko to Hatchin. A friend of mine is trying to get me to watch Angel Beats but uh... I don't know about that

I binged watched at least 2/3 of the series and I was astounded that in the middle of an arc they jumped to past/future and did an entirely new arc for 20 episodes and then jumped back to the original arc like nothing had ever happened.

So uh... what's a bad anime that a lot of people find morally outraging or just terrible. I feel like hate watching something for shits and giggles.

actually guys, I don't think I'm cut out for this whole anime thing.

I need some anime recommendations because I've run out of Universal Century gundam to watch and if I watch any more gundam I'll probably kill myself. Typically I like horror I guess, but I haven't seen a whole lot of actual horror anime out there, suspense and thriller type stuff is great too. I also love giant robots as unrelated to more serious genres as it tends to be. Not a fan of comedy anime though.
To list some stuff I've liked a ton since that probably gives a better example of my tastes; Mushishi, Requiem from the Darkness, Baccano, Shin Mazinger Z and Jojo's Bizarre Adventure. I've also read but not watched Planetes, Blade of the Immortal and Berserk.

When they Cry is the only horror anime I can think of.
