on the last page you chastised someone for looking to take a cheaper flight or airline??? and now this is your advice???

PEK is not a great airport for a layover not all airport layovers are the same? But they clearly stated that they rather spend $600 elsewhere so I might as well offer something constructive?

I like peach more than spring, you get to recline your seats in peach and the planes tend to be cleaner

I have a 5 hour layover in HKG next month. Is it worth going to see the Tian Tan Buddha or should I just chill in the airport? I've been to HK many times but not Lantau island.

Just come see me

So "here for the temples" can actually be true in other countries. Interesting.

Buddhism is big in east Asia as well.

I think I’m actually weird one here, I do like to look at different Buddhist architecture and sutras .

Seeing 10+ languages or 大悲咒 or transliterated Pali is interesting

PLA do go on random maneuvers and sometimes are roaming in Hong Kong. I don’t think there’s anyone to subjugate though

I was housed in Lujiazui (yuk) so Paradise Dynasty and Din Tie Fung we're the common places I'd have Xiao long bao lunch.

Or the food court at super brand mall :(

Might as well just go the other way.

Butcher's club for a burg
Nadaman for Japanese
Lady M for a crepe
Morton's for a steak

Try Mr and Mrs Bund at the Bund - Pretty good french cuisine

Recommend jiajia, but the lineup at the original one is worth the wait than the other chains. Skip Yuyuan,

I also like lai lai, but xiaolongbao's are all over the place

Any recommendations for a good xiaolongbao place in shanghai? I find that the Anthony Bourdain visit can be a kiss of death on places.

Tian Tian in Singapore definitely went downhill and increased its prices in a linear fashion after he visited there. However I still have a soft spot for Yak Lok in Hong Kong, so long as you get there at the right time.

Yak Lok is allright, touristy.

Fook Lam Moon on a Sunday is where you should go for roast goose :downsrim:

Visas are always restrictive in nature.

You are not allowed to be in the country after 30/08 with your current visa.
