OK, I guess Fujifilm made a decision to get big into the licensing / rebadging game. There's going to be a Michael Kors edition:

Now that they've killed FP-100 there's no way to shoot old instant cameras right ? Except for impossible film I mean

You can get an custom Instax back for the Polaroid 600SE or the Mamiya Universal. Costs around $290. You have to modify your camera a little by removing a piece of metal that does nothing but was left over from manufacturing process. So currently I can shoot Instax Wide, Fuji FP100/3000 and 120 film on my 600SE.

Others have modified cameras like the 250 or 350 to shoot Instax Wide but its a bitch.

I've experimented with shooting Instax mini in Polaroid cameras but its just not worth the hassle.

You're quite good at turning me on.

This may be a dumb question but is there any major difference between instax mini and wide beyond the size of the picture like there is between 35mm and 120mm (like depth of field, etc.) or are the typical instant cameras not capable of taking advantage of such things??

The apertures on those cameras are so small (f12 for the mini and f14 for the wide) that format size would make any differences in DOF completely negligible.

Ah but the Lomos are all f8 and the Mint Instaflex TL70 is 5.6. Both at a price premium over the Fujis of course.

There's obviously a demand for a higher end instax with manual controls why doesn't Fuji just make one already :argh:

Guys, is there any reason I shouldn't order the Instax 26 over the 70 and save 30+ bux?

edit: even the fujifilm.com doesn't tell me the lens focal length and battery type. Talk about dumbing down.

The 8 cleanly is missing a lot of features but its the most good looking one. I think it will be most popular in the parties.

I ran a pack through my SP1, it looks good but not worth it for printer people who can convert to B&W

Might finally retire my SX70s, since I bought a Instax Wide 300 last night. I typically only shoot instant for special events and got pretty fedup with the recent batch of Impossible Projects film for the development time at the last wedding.

Has anyone here adapted Instax Wide to a 600SE back? It looks simple enough and Id love to bring the big guy back into the action.

That thing is pretty thin, I wonder if it's actually shooting onto the film or if it's projecting the digital copy onto the film like what the instax printer does. I am betting that's what they're doing.

I am betting that as well.

There are rumors/leaks that there will later be a cheaper camera that lacks the digital features and just takes photos directly onto film.

Is anything stopping people from using instax film in a medium/large format camera? Just lack of adapters?

probably just a digital camera + printer if they're saying you can print from the SD card

You can recalibrate a rangefinder, but depth to film plane can be a problem for anything SLR-based (it's way too deep, most of the time). For large format, Zach over at Mercury Camera does a neat conversion from Instax Wide to the 4x5 Graflok back, and produces a replacement ground glass for it, too.

There are several different adapters, they just have a high cost:

The square format gives me hope for a TLR conversion.
