I don't see why not. It'd allow for more huge current stadiums to be included and lessen the burden on the taxpayer for building new stuff. And how bad could the travel thing be - aren't there loads of sports leagues who travel multiple times every week in those countries? I don't think it's an impossible obstacle for the travelling fans either. Say, 50,000 fans need to travel from USA to Canada for a match, how much is that of the total number of people traveling between the two countries? Not much I bet.

I'm sure FIFA likes the idea of having 3 federations to take bribes from as well.

It would also be the only way you'd see Canada in the world cup :sigh: :smith:

Some might think it's curious that the Middle East and the Caribbean, which are the regions most routinely accused of football related corruption, seem to be profiting the most from this.

But but but the head of CONCACAF is from Canada so there must be no corruption there!!!!

Now the Caribbean Union is thinking about breaking away from CONCACAF to form their own thing. It would reduce us from 41 nations to 10. It would also lower our corruption rating 99% and make it so the US and Mexico can actually have a seat at the table when discussing just about anything.

This would be the best news to come out of this 48 team business.

who would be the ten

and give them 3 spots so its always usa mexico and a battle from the other 7

Canada :canada:

Central American Zone (UNCAF)

Belize
Costa Rica
El Salvador
Guatemala
Honduras
Nicaragua
Panama

The rest are all in the Carribean zone (CFU)

Oh that doesn't change a thing outside of Nicaragua and belize Canada can't beat any of those teams (you see because that's how poo poo Canada is at soccer)

edit: that also means the real poo poo in CONCACAF is the Caribbean countries holy lol I didn't realize that 90% of the qualifiers come out of the "North America" section

Eh, I don't think it's the US per se, more CONCACAF being CONCACAF. The Copa America thing if def just CONMEBOL/CONCACAF doing their normal grift. The US will gladly host any and all tournaments and won't be doing the usual bribing etc. But it's also the home of giant crowds, tv, and nebulous promoters. It's a lot easier to get paid in the US than in all of the other countries in this hemisphere.
