I love how cheap and broken the buzzers are and someone always gets screwed by them.

Also, they need to fix their buzzer wiring. They seem to have them wired up in sequence so that the person on the right always has priority over the person on the left. It's not a real game show, but it would be nice if they could get the whole panel involved more. I've seen this happen a few times so far but this was a really obvious problem with last night's episode.

Yeah, it sucked-- we got too little Eugene Mirman because of the buzzer issue last night. And while I enjoy Doug Benson, we had him as a guest last week. Let Eugene and Kristen shine. Well, Kristen did shine. She was hilarious, and looking fabulous to boot.

I love this show. Mike Lawrence and Kyle Kinane are my favorite guests so far.

That joke and Mike Lawrence's Brown v. Board of Education joke are the top two of the whole show, so far, I think. And the whole show is great, so that's saying something.

I never had an opinion on Chris Hardwick until just recently-- I saw his special Mandroid and then saw him on Talking Bad. I think he's a funny comic and a likable guy.

The show might be funnier if they were just completely faking it with pre-written script jokes but overall I'm glad they don't because it's so much funnier seeing some of the jokes totally bomb.

Uhhhhh, a lot of it is edited, which is why you often see the scores jumping around. It's taped earlier in the day like Daily Show and Colbert Report. I'm sure there is some preparation.

Also, so glad Mike Lawrence is back. He was my favorite guest from the first 16 episodes. Him, Ron Funches, or PFT.

Chris Hardwick lost his dad in between seasons. :( I remember being really happy that the show was renewed, and then found out his father had died only a few days later.

It would be weird if you didn't have a crush on her. Another comic once said she looked like a Carvelle Cookiepuss... (at a roast) which was pretty hilarious, but I honestly think she's very pretty. Not to mention she's just so loving funny and effervescent.

Aww, hell. I checked the website for the week's guests and it looks like CM Punk has pulled out.

Was he going to be on the Ron Funches episode? That's a shame, if so, because Ron is a total wrestling dork.

Yeah, it was originally CM Punk, The Miz, and Funches. Then Miz dropped from the schedule with a TBA, and now we're at Funches, Matt Braunger, and TBA.

Hopefully they can reschedule. Ron having a nerdgasm would be such a joy to watch. He and PFT are my favorites on this show.

My favorite thing about this show, even more than the jokes, is that it is a wonderful platform for lesser known comedians to get more exposure. So many of favorite people, of whom most people have never heard, get a chance to showcase their jokes in perhaps a more palatable way to some people than a yet another stand-up showcase.

DivisionPost posted:

I love Garry Marshall and I'd hate to throw him shade, but would he even get this show?

Or (serious question) is there another Gary Marshall who's young and social-media savvy?

Paul F. Tompkins, currently undefeated on the show, plays many characters on podcasts, including Garry Marshall. Last I heard he was chasing the Loch Ness monster with his new wife, Gillian Jacobs-Marshall.

Ali Wong is brilliant.

She was nominated for joke of the year in 2013. Her joke was about how she was dating a guy that wouldn't try anal with her.

"A tiny Asian girl who enjoys anal sex? If I posted this on Craiglist, the internet would explode."

(paraphrased)

This show has got me curious: Is it actually possible to book a Sklar brother on their own? With a 3 panel guest, they're taking up 66% of the joke time. They're extremely talented, but I'm just sick of them, especially on a show that gets great lesser known comics like Megan Neuringer, Ron Funches, Michael Che, Ali Wong, etc.

Red Eye is different and has had plenty of cool comics. Sherrod Small is on there all the time. Scott Aukerman, Neil Hamburger, Greg Proops are just a few names that come to mind.

Also, every Smartest Man podcast he does is like a new hour of stand-up, so I'm good with how he's spending his time.
