Yeah, it sucked-- we got too little Eugene Mirman because of the buzzer issue last night. And while I enjoy Doug Benson, we had him as a guest last week. Let Eugene and Kristen shine. Well, Kristen did shine. She was hilarious, and looking fabulous to boot. I love this show. Mike Lawrence and Kyle Kinane are my favorite guests so far.

I never had an opinion on Chris Hardwick until just recently-- I saw his special Mandroid and then saw him on Talking Bad. I think he's a funny comic and a likable guy.

Chris Hardwick lost his dad in between seasons.  I remember being really happy that the show was renewed, and then found out his father had died only a few days later.

My favorite thing about this show, even more than the jokes, is that it is a wonderful platform for lesser known comedians to get more exposure. So many of favorite people, of whom most people have never heard, get a chance to showcase their jokes in perhaps a more palatable way to some people than a yet another stand-up showcase. Tompkins, currently undefeated on the show, plays many characters on podcasts, including Garry Marshall. Last I heard he was chasing the Loch Ness monster with his new wife, Gillian Jacobs-Marshall.

Red Eye is different and has had plenty of cool comics. Sherrod Small is on there all the time. Scott Aukerman, Neil Hamburger, Greg Proops are just a few names that come to mind. Also, every Smartest Man podcast he does is like a new hour of stand-up, so I'm good with how he's spending his time.
