Majority of guitarists are idiot superstitious children who think the wood their instrument is made out of matters in how it sounds coming from an amplifier so its not really surprising they have terrible taste occasionally

doesn't it depend on the type of guitar, pickup and amp? What effect would a different wood have on a solid state amp that's picking up vibrations from the string?

The only way wood density won't matter is if you're playing a digital amp. those can make a top of the line les paul and a $50 guitar bought at walmart sound exactly the same. Then you're getting into the elitist $2500 tube stack versus the $450 digital amp debate

youre a dumbo but it's ok you're in good company

then he ends by undermining his autist spiel by saying she's okay all music is good, but adds that he bets "she can't do this" then makes one last triumphant fart noise with his whammy bar because he a man in his late forties totally showed that chick half his age what's what because she didn't spend her teenage years studiously learning the subtle mechanics of the floyd rose double-locking floating tremolo system

Fender are pretty good price-wise as long as you stay away from artist models and the oddly priced american-standards.

Worth noting that PRS post-1994 are really terrible price-wise, £1000+ for something made on a CNC machine is not on at all, they also have these horrible neck heels for some reason, makes it way harder to reach the lower frets than it should do. Rickenbacker are also ok as long as you don't mind thin necks and over-priced replacement parts. Heard good things about mosrite but I've never actually seen one in the flesh.

Eastwood guitars are pretty good if you like oddball stuff, just stay away from anything with less than 21 frets.

i bought a cheap used prs knockoff Jay Turser and i don't have any problems reaching the higher frets. it's actually one of the best guitars ive ever played, barring the cheapish nut and pots

he most advanced level of guitar cable is the Alessandro Instrument Pro, a double- balanced cable that has high-grade functionally-perfect silver conductors. Silver is the final word in conductor material, being the most musical metal known. These cables use Teflon insulation over a solid silver core. The solid center prevents strand-interaction, the greatest single source of cable distortion. Solid silver allows for the flattest, most dynamic frequency response currently available. Hard-cell foam insulation reduces dielectric involvement (distortion caused by the insulation material.)

As someone earlier mentioned, even if anything not touching or picking up the string vibration makes a difference it's ultimately irrelevant because the most it can affect your sound is a little bit and there exists a universe of accessories to shape the way your guitar sounds that aren't "getting a new guitar"

John Petrucci through the years.

Here we see a young, skinny John Petrucci. What a twerp.

As he got older, he discovered things like "carbohydrates", "hair gel", and "bleach"

At some point he realizes - or somebody told him - how ridiculous he looked. Here he is in the rare "regular adult male" stage.

But as Dream Theater began attempting for more of a straight heavy metal sound, Petrucci figured he needed to look the part. He starts growing his hair back out and practicing his totally hardcore poses.

Here he is with longer hair, and slightly more muscles. He's obviously been working out.

Which brings us to the modern day, "Caveman" John Petrucci. He is now an immense monster, barely capable of seeing the guitar past his pecs.
