The intent is noble but the perverse glee we're seeing exhibited whenever a new goon is berated into suffering through some manchild's crossover fantasy egowank we found in a Star Trek game worries me a bit. I'm not gonna drop any names though, Railrokh.

Not big enough to bother with in the slightest unless you're running a foundry farm or something like that. To be honest, I'm pretty sure that drop rate boost thing is apocryphal.

And even then, that's barely an issue because of it's bullshit battle cloak. The only real downside is it's terrible broadside profile, meaning you have to pay a little bit more attention than normal to your flying if you beamboat it.

It's pretty good. It's the first genuinely decent heavy cruiser the feds have gotten in long drat time, that's for sure. Granted the Eclipse is a Galor that trades pissbeam access for a cloak, so it's probably not going to see a lot of use anyway Psycho Landlord fucked around with this message at 05:29 on Oct 4, 2014 |

Yeah, the exchange are your best bet for FSMs. Just run the foundry every day and you should be able to grab a few before too long. Alternatively, ask in channel, it's not unheard of for goons to have a few around they'll sell at a discount. I wouldn't recommend using dil to grab them, given how important it's going to be come Tuesday.

Yeah, I have to seriously question some of the thread bitching - what investment did you have in this game besides griefing and explosions? Because despite the changes there is still an abundance of the latter and opportunities for the former are on the rise as some of the more notorious players come back to check DR out.

Again, it's really not as bad as the whining here would indicate. I mean, it's Cryptic, so it's not good either, but unless you absolutely must have orange items in every slot and all the skill points right loving now there's plenty of fun to be had cruising around, blowing poo poo up, and insulting people, which to my knowledge is why most goons bother with this game in the first place. Besides, when it isn't filler patrols, the new content missions actually hold up pretty well. EDIT ^^^ Beaten already, but yeah, the Galor gets a free upgrade to current endgame levels that will give you a pretty decent headstart with the newer poo poo. And pissbeams are still bestbeams.

Yeah, if you're going to go for a standard torp right now (i;e not wide-angle or cluster) get the Delta rep torp. It hits like a truck, is AoE, isn't targetable, drains power, and kills power regen rates. It's great.

The Iconian normal queues are reasonably lively, and there's a project to turn in marks for the datacores you need for rep gear. It'll be more grinding but you can totally get the poo poo you need for Ico rep gear, and from the looks of it said gear is pretty good. I mean yeah, get into TNG and see if you can't wrangle a few goons to help run, but you aren't totally without recourse if you want to keep playing the game.

Aren't 360 beams unique equips? Or did that change when I wasn't looking? If they aren't then sure, DBB's are fine provided you abuse cloak to stay on target. If I'm remembering right and they are unique, though, then yes, an eight beam broadside will be better.

It can be done with DBBs, again provided you abuse the living poo poo out of the cloak. But yeah, I'd still go Beam Arrays, less headache for the same result in terms of killing things.

Ignoring Morglon's continuing naive disbelief of goon idiocy, yeah, don't spend money. Nothing in the Zstore is even remotely worth it unless it's dressup or a T6 ship. It will be a while before you're capable of flying a T6 ship, and dressup is cheap enough that you can grind out the ingame currencies enough to make the Zen you need pretty fast. If you make it all the way to level 60, and end up wanting a fancy new USS Power-creep, you're still better off either grinding or maybe getting lucky with a goon handout. Besides all that though, this game, sadly, is still pretty much the best Star Trek game currently out there.

The Arbiter's trait is pretty cool, and the Mercury is probably the best traditional escort Fed side right now, and has pilot maneuvers to boot. The Alita can be made to look like and Akira/Armitage and is the best of the three for that reason alone. As for you flying one however, it's just an upgunned Armitage. While I'll always cling to it as my favorite ship, there are probably better options unless you just really want to fly a carrier with a saucer. It does remain the best Fed carrier, at least. This is even worse advice than my own, the command cruisers are garbage. If you want a T6 cruiser you're better off flying the Eclipse, given that it is literally a Galor with an extra console that can cloak and has poor man's sensor analysis. The only good thing about the Arbiter is the trait, and said trait is really only good for cruisers. If you're spacerich enough to buy a whole ship and fly it for ten minutes to fly another ship better, then sure, yeah, guess it's worth it.
