Mac people who Are crashing - turn your graphical settings back down. I was fine until I went to Earth space dock and kept crashing. I set my graphics to medium again and the crashing stopped.

This is on a MacBook Pro.

After the most recent patch it feels like the OSX version loads maps two or three times as fast.

I just updated my mac with an SSD so, I can't even really notice. :shobon:

I have noticed that even after turning the settings to medium, the game is peppier and has a far nicer graphical quality to it. I am quite pleased with it (now).

I was playing a Borg mission and got a nice purple tricobalt torpedo launcher. Are destructible torps okay to use? I just PVE.

welp there it is: Controls > Camera type

Thanks, I find it almost impossible to pilot an escort while also managing camera angle

While I agree, it can be much harder on an escort with the restrictive firing arc, it's often critical to get used to looking in a different direction than you're heading/shooting. Situational awareness can be the difference between living and dying. You can tell where your target is spatially by your weapons fire.

Personally I love how easy it is to control the ship with one hand while looking with another. I got used to controls like that in UT2K4 and I wish all games let you do that.

I finally built a cheapscort and holy poo poo, I love it. Sure, I love cruisers, but a decently kitted 'scort is a thing of beauty. Looking forward to a fleet ship.

Speaking of which, there needs to be a list of goon or otherwise non-poo poo foundry missions, presuming they're still playable post-s9.

Bijor is a recent one, older one I can think of being A Dental Appointment. And The Well Ran Dry is a good one though it's a sequel to a mission that doesn't seem to be up anymore.

Farming missions, too.

I would love to design some, but a little bit of :effort: and a little bit of not knowing what the gently caress. I tried to load the editor, but you have to be Gold? I think? That might be worth it, I suppose. Maybe? Anyone have any good resources for reading up on it?

I can't understand the point, presuming this isn't fake. So EXP rates are adjusted up. The normal game has a generous curve as is. And it's not where most progression comes from at the minute.

The only way it'd be interesting is if they messed with the enemies, ship stats, or both.

Maybe if they took out ground combat completely. Or brought back the beam down as your ship bug.

Story line missions and in between doff missions when you don't have time to play. I did 20-30 completely from doff missions during the course of a week.

Is there something interesting I can do with prisoners as a Klangon? Since I finally got out into fed space and started raiding I'm fairly swimming in them. I haven't found anything other than sell them or wait for the occasional sell to Orions doff mission which doesn't really come up enough.

Don't be silly. It's not just more power, the warp field bubble has to be balanced. If it were to collapse during warp it could tear the ship in two. Everyone knows that having 3 nacelles is very hard to balance that's why ships traditionally have had 1 or 2 or 4 but not 3 or 5. The fact that the federation managed to get the third nacelle balanced on a ship of that size shows that they were in serious dire straits if they were willing to risk it.

Your 29 nacelles could never in a million years be balanced properly.

Anyone Xboners playing this on console? I'd like to start a fleet*. Gamer tag is Doktor Zero. It's actually not bad playing STO on the couch but I miss assigning Duty Officers and sending them on missions. Hopefully they add that at some point.
