The OP mentions the Mirror Event as a way to level quickly. But alas, that is no longer true. :(
Also, first line mentions "soon to be Romulans" might want to change to simply "Romulans".

Great OP though, best one yet!

Once you have interacted with all three of the extra consoles (at the dead ends), go back to them a second time to get the hidden compartment option."

I think I just went to all the consoles (even the dead end ones) and ran back to the first console before I went on the final platform with the cutscene to get the swarmers.

I like the "sidegrade" aspect of max level. So sick of +1 mechanics in games, "just kill 100 more pigs so you can kill 1000 more hell pigs - they are red!". This way you have options and lets people who just hit max level to still perform decently in all the content or at least gear up incredibly quick if they have a few old items. Letting them focus on stuff they want to do.

And the art design has been the biggest improvement IMHO. From level design to game mechanics it's all fitting together and looking great doing it.

Too many things in the Voth battlezone specifically target turrets/stations. Better to leave the Engineers at home and grab some tacs.

For most ground stuff, you'll want two guys with split beam rifles to exploit damage. Two guys with miniguns/shotguns to expose damage. Always have a dedicated healer boff. I like giving my healer a ranged weapon so they stay father back while my other guys rush in, lunging, kicking, and grenade everything in sight.

For non-voth battlezone, engineers are fine but turret forests aren't as effective as before because you should be running through groups and killing enemies faster than your guys can drop the turrets. Turret groups were used in the past when ground combat was basically minute long fights that you'd alt+netflix until the sound of pew pew stopped and you would then move to the next group. Now it's much faster paced.

I should probably write up something more formal but that's the basics of ground today.

I really like the Mirror Assault. It's got a somewhat similar layout to the Galor so you can pretty much build up an AUX2BAT setup and transfer it over when you get a Galor without any issues. I'll even occasionally bring it out and fuss around with it just for a change of pace.

The hands down best shuttles are the peregrine, to'duj, and scorpion fighters since they get CRF1 as an innate ability and generally have the highest maneuverability in the class. Nothing's really quite as close. After that... the Aeon's pretty good (sensor analysis), and shuttles with two bridge officer seats are handy, but everything else just kind of blends together.

Beyond that... yeah, basically just outfit them like an escort. Dual beam banks are a good option, especially on shuttles that can't use dual cannons. FAW is an ensign level skill and pretty much wrecks most things with DBBs, and I thiiink the tetryon cascade rep power doesn't scale down when you're in a shuttle, though Cryptic fixed the point defense console a while ago. Really though, there's not a whole lot of point in twinking out a shuttle; there's only so much you can do with them equipment wise, and so little content to use them in. Just for gods sake never use the shuttle-specific gear.

Oh yeah, the Precise trait would probably be pretty handy too.

What about the Blue Shuttle Phasers from the Vault on a Yellowstone? Since they are have a 360 arc. Or would a normal turret be better? Also I use the Fart Shuttle Engine because I like to push buttons.

I don't know how to make space money :( Leveling five reputations simultaneously definitely takes a hit out of what I earn a day but I guess once I am done with those Ill have nothing else to spend EC on in a couple months but ships.

Run your alts through the foundry, look for missions like "Loot-o-matic" or "Farm" in the name. After doing a run, usually 10-15min, you'll have loot enough to make 400k-700k ec a run, more if you sell purps and blues on the exchange. Once you character stops getting loot you've reached the limit, wait again until tomorrow and do it again. Do this for all your characters and you'll have tons of EC in no time.

Going to the wiki I straight up get "Sorry, you don't have enough rights to continue. Perhaps you forgot to login?" with no options whatsoever.

What is an aux2bat setup? Running a tac fed if that makes a difference.

Click Login and then the Register link.

Aux2bat uses the 'Auxiliary to Batteries' ability to shorten the cooldown on most abilities letting you do them more often, sometimes keeping certain abilities going with little to no down time. It also buffs your powerlevels, giving your engines, shields, and weapons more kick to them. A proper Aux2Bat setup will increase your dps while also increasing your survivability. It's a commitment though, as it takes some grinding to get the credits to afford certain rare items and personnel, and you have to focus more than just button mashing to get the timings right. When you are registered, post you login name here and someone will grant you access (if we like you). Afterwards you can go to the wiki, read some things and stop being a horrible noob.

Not if you use the magic spacebar macro! Make sure you check that out if you're going to roll aux2batt.

Using the macro isn't optimal with a Aux2bat build. You can do it, sure, but to get the most you'll want to wait a couple seconds for your aux to build up and then shunt it all to the shields, weapons, and engines with aux2bat.

I'm just going from what's on the wiki...

quote:

Timing is everything. Running two auxbats will put all your abilities at GCD, but to receive the most benefit, you must wait a couple of seconds in between auxbats for your auxiliary power to recover, else you will only receive a power boost to weapons/shields/engines with every other auxbat. Waiting any more than a couple seconds, will throw off your cycles, however. So pay attention. Additionally, you cannot put every one of your buffs on one macro, because you will have to be careful to cover gaps in your weapons power coverage.

Maybe it's old now, i dunno.
