Kimsemus posted:Today in As The ArcheAge Turns: fishing goons get mad about people saying hurtful things in guild chat, and pirating their fishing spots. Reaching fishing agreements is inherently anti-free market and the socialist reign of terror is already starting to show strain. Too many fishing ships at a single location causes insane lag and I really doubt the profitability of fishing. Unless you are filling a ship yourself, you are going to be limited to 2-3 fish that all need to be 30 or 37k and take 30-45+ minutes round trip if you include time searching for spawns. In reality, hunting fishing fleets is likely the best way to make money until they stop being such easy targets. You can kill and steal enough large fish for the pirates in 1/2 the time and if you have a fishing boat, fill it up with your ill gotten gains.

Kimsemus posted:Gold isn't going to do anything for you, people are getting privately wealthy, which isn't going to make them better players, and they won't be able to pace with the rising gear costs. The people I see complaining about bots and hackers ruining the economy I also see fishing all day to get more gold. I gave up on trying to buy gear or even attempt making it because archeum prices are insane (very few people are making money crafting Illustrious/Magnificent gear) until I can get the mats to make it. There are way much more Captains of Industry doing trade runs and fishing than botters picking coin purses (who we should thank any way for bringing Archeum into the system) and a whole lot less methods of removing gold from the system (the AH cut helps, but can't keep up with the limited need to buy/sell on AH for gear). I kind of wish they made trade pack running have a wider range than 70-130% and kick in earlier and do something similar with fishing (it would also make people fish more than sailfish and marlin) or go full Bitcoin with it to hilarious effect.

The game is on a long decline. Inflation is rampant, gear grind is inevitable, I have determined that the best course of action is wholesale piracy and liquidating assets.

I am going to give you guys a little PSA right now. If you plan on being a stable, normal person in a leadership position, just do the opposite of anything that the previous officers did. 1) Let people know your plans. Speculation and the rumors it starts are worse than letting people know you are helping them in secret for "opsec". 2) Schedule meetings when people are on and provide notes for those not there. Halloween may seem like a good time for major decisions, but a couple of people may be unable to attend. 3) Don't take everything you don't agree with as subversion (or goonfucking), especially if you failed to obey point number 1.

I am confused at why the guys that left the guild keep showing up and demonstrating why we are having much more fun with them out of the guild. It seems like the people who espoused the most bullshit about 'goonuism' turned out to be the biggest crybaby 'goonbertarians' imaginable.

Funneling to the guy that keeps giving us pack materials and packs in payment for helping him move things? Have you even logged into the game or mumble in the past few days? Between him, Werkwerk, and a few others, 10-20 people a day get free mats to craft packs for themselves on the Eastern continent, ferry them to the west, and let them turn it in for ~20 gold profit in under 30 minutes.

As someone who was on both fishing guild events and donated the proceeds to the guild, it sure seems like goonfucking when you scam a bunch of non-fishing goons to funnel money to the fishing goons so only fishing goons can get gear.

The throne room didn't even matter because of the horrific lag that showed up even with the limited number of people in the zone. The only keep I saw fall was when the sever crashed with both gates down and the attackers could organize faster than the defenders.

I don't understand the anger, I am happy that he offered a Mumble after the "dark times", and can understand the cold heat death it died from lack of users. I am sad of losing the guild, but only play for ~15 minutes a day doing dailies and farming and can't be bothered to get back into the guild. I also have a ton of mats for the charcoal runs if people are doing them, but don't know who to send them to.

The only good thing I have heard about Black Desert is they character creation is ridiculously in depth. On the flip side, there are several leveling systems, no quest experience (keep on grindin'), and it is still a KMMO.

InternetJunky posted:I understand the change related to owner changes, but why do this for people who built a cottage, saved the teleport location, then replaced the property with a farm? Because they intended the ports to be tied to fireplaces and that is why you need the log and ink to record the location? People love to complain about exploits and hacks, but once their exploit is closed, "Trion has gone too far!" This only effects the massive land barons who are a minority in the game anyway.

InternetJunky posted:Yes, clearly porting to a spot that's saved in your teleport book is a "exploit and hack". You're pretty ignorant if you believe the only people this impacts are land barons.
