Fridtjof Nansen posted:^ that is an interesting tidbit. I didn't realize astronaut helmets were that narrow to their noses. Real astronaut helmets aren't like motorcycle helmets, they're big fishbowls mounted to your shoulders and you can move your head around freely inside them.

Sappo569 posted:Some baseball nut can probably answer this, but I assume it's the construction of the bats that make this possible? I'm not a baseball nut but I've held a bat, spun it around and almost hit myself in the face. It's wider and heavier at one end than the other, so the center of gravity is shifted towards the smacking end which makes it spin funny. Take any stick, add some weight to one end and throw it around.

Search for Trackmania Press Forward. People make these maps where they just hold forward and keep putting ramps and poo poo in the car's path. Since it always takes an identical route, you always know where it's going to land and add another ramp. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=czxvFlhjN0A&t=54s

Arclyte posted:I mean is that the normal procedure or what the hell is going on? Surely they have a more "precise" tool to do whatever it is they're trying to accomplish. He's getting one of these removed. It's probably not a very common procedure since they are generally meant to stay in for the rest of your life, so designing some specialized gadget is a lot more expensive than clamping it in a vise and hitting it with a hammer. And hitting it with a hammer is probably the best way to get it out without damaging the fleshy parts of the leg. A "gentler" method would have to immobilize the leg securely, at which point it becomes a tug of war between soft tissue and titanium.

Pour some gas on a pile of leaves, then get distracted and let it sit for a few minutes. The gas evaporates, mixes with the air between the leaves and forms an explosive mix, then just add fire and say goodbye to your eyebrows.
