^ that is an interesting tidbit. I didn't realize astronaut helmets were that narrow to their noses.

Real astronaut helmets aren't like motorcycle helmets, they're big fishbowls mounted to your shoulders and you can move your head around freely inside them.

Some baseball nut can probably answer this, but I assume it's the construction of the bats that make this possible?

Like the smacking end is heavy and the handle is super light?

I'm not a baseball nut but I've held a bat, spun it around and almost hit myself in the face. It's wider and heavier at one end than the other, so the center of gravity is shifted towards the smacking end which makes it spin funny.

Take any stick, add some weight to one end and throw it around.

Wouldn't these sunglasses then proceed to gently caress up your face?

I used to wear a pair of rimless matrix style sunglasses when driving, then I got hit in the face with an airbag. The left lens entered just below my eyebrow and ended up about 2 inches above it.

Search for Trackmania Press Forward.

People make these maps where they just hold forward and keep putting ramps and poo poo in the car's path. Since it always takes an identical route, you always know where it's going to land and add another ramp.

I mean is that the normal procedure or what the hell is going on? Surely they have a more "precise" tool to do whatever it is they're trying to accomplish.

He's getting one of these removed. It's probably not a very common procedure since they are generally meant to stay in for the rest of your life, so designing some specialized gadget is a lot more expensive than clamping it in a vise and hitting it with a hammer.

And hitting it with a hammer is probably the best way to get it out without damaging the fleshy parts of the leg. A "gentler" method would have to immobilize the leg securely, at which point it becomes a tug of war between soft tissue and titanium.

16 bit Vader reminds me, anyone have a link handy to that tumblr that gets posted occasionally with a ton of gifs of retro animations and cyberpunk looking stuff, e.g. blade runner city shots, totally abstract repeating patterns, etc.

Several ive found come close but I swear the title was something simple like flashback, which doesn't really narrow anything down when searching.

Jesus I can't even imagine gas reacting like that. Is there an old-timey line of black powder under those leaves??

Pour some gas on a pile of leaves, then get distracted and let it sit for a few minutes. The gas evaporates, mixes with the air between the leaves and forms an explosive mix, then just add fire and say goodbye to your eyebrows.

In the gif though you're missing that those fuckers are hard to kill and it dove right into a capital ship's flak fire.

He hit the enemy fighter with a TAG missile, a little RADAR beacon that tells your capital ships where the enemy is so they can shoot them. You're supposed to use them against capital ships, but it's a lot of fun to stick them on enemy fighters and watch the fireworks.
