The depression isn't half bad so you can hide the bulk of your tank pretty well and the aim time lets you pop shots out pretty well. I like mine. Plays like a combination of panther II and Pershing with 8 prem MM.

It is pretty much pure awesome. I usually platoon it with 1Cs as well because it is way more useful in tier 5 games.

Bought the VK 3000D the other day and had a chance to run about 5 games in it today. It is a weirdly effective medium. I don't have the top engine yet, but everything else is unlocked and man that short 88 with the 5.6 reload time is hilariously effective. So far I've broken even on credits, but haven't quite had to carry super hard. 2.5k damage game first time out too. Nice mobility with a vague amount of armor to boot.

This is kinda the problem I'm having now... I've plateaued big time as a player. I can poo poo out 3k damage in a decent to solid game and maybe a 4-4.5k in a very good tier 9/10 game. Some of the tanks I've started grinding recently have some of the best dmg/game in tier that I've ever had and yet my WR seems to have stagnated. On the other hand the holiday pubbies were so bad I bought Euro trucker 2 which is weirdly addictive and might dive into naval action while waiting for botes.

Yea the mission poo poo is not well implemented. The fact that you have to do them one at a time is really awful or that you don't pick up secondaries once you passed and completed the primary while executing the same primary while having a different thing active is also beyond retarded. Like the t-34 game where I shot on the move, killed a tank one the move, destroyed an arty, damaged 3 different tank types, and killed 2 mediums only applied to the 2nd challenge...as opposed to unlocking the next 5. Nope ace game can't reward that poo poo have to play a million games for your lovely tank.

Also, the LEFH is still amazing and I wish I had played it more with the old HEAT shell just did the 1k Hvy damage mission with 7 HEAT rounds to the side of a Tiger 1 and the front of 2 KV-3s. 2k damage and a loss but gently caress it.

One of the tier 2 cruisers has very few advantages over the other, and one or two ships are arguably downgrades from the lower tier. There are no bad tech tree lines though. The tier 2 Japanese DD was rough with only 2 center mount tubes and longish reload. Most BB drivers I noticed were bad and you could circle them or laugh as they came through smoke to beach themselves and then eat a full compliment of torps as they try and unbeach. Think the Japanese tier 2 cruiser going into the BB line was really massive and squishy. At the end of the day if you hit your target you will do damage and nearly any ship can contribute to any game. How well and how much comes down to skill, vessel, and pubbies.

Personally I think having fog of war in pubs would be horrific. It would require you to rely even more on your team in addition to creating a huge gap in a knowledge of how to approach the map. By virtue of knowing what you are facing at least you can up your chances a bit. Not knowing what is on the other side could mean "hmmm I've been spotted" *immediately arty starts raining on you* or "cool a light/medium" *pokes out eats jpze100 shell*

JuffoWup posted:That is no different than cw is now. Of course you are dealing with 12-14 clueless other teammates unlike cw, but it should up things a bit. That is exactly it. In clan wars or strongholds I can communicate with 8-14 players I can vaguely trust to click red tanks. Yes the enemy team will be at the same disadvantage, but you are potentially rewarding camping high alpha tanks or the aforementioned CHAI 1 line sniper and not active gameplay. I'm sure many players here make game based decisions based upon map and team composition. Take away the team composition and all of a sudden every potential move can become high risk. Make a ballsy move in you light tank...eat an isu shell. I mean if you had something like team has 3 lights 2 mediums 4 TDs 5 heavies 1arty could work...but there's still a gap between say anticipating an IS vs a T29 vs a BP and that is in tier. Now adjust for t6 thru 8 and even facing heavies could go from bad to ooooohhhh poo poo.

NTRabbit posted:Worth mentioning that Botes has a massive memory leak issue right now, I'm lasting maybe 5 battles between client restarts Strangely no issues with this. Weird. For the AP vs HE it comes down to range and size of guns. With the BBs landing a salvo of HE on something small is basically the end of their world. In addition setting CVs on fire with them is really awesome. For Cruisers and DDs I'm a big fan of using AP while closing from extreme range HE in the middle range and then back to AP within 5k. Last night I was able to deal 3 to 1 damage with 2 St. Louis in the Sampson because they are very large and just dropping shells right in their armored middle. Playing cruisers for right now and they are so smooth and buttery it's really nice. The DD everything is OH GOD INCOMING *cringe turn pray you don't die* but the cruiser can shrug enough damage off that you can get close enough to BBs that then dump a nice hot load of torpedoes into them.

Finally spent the time in MM to float around in the Langley. Thanks for the tip Juffo. First round kept the fighters nearby the BBs and then jumped their torp bombers. Shot the whole wing down. However, the amount of multitasking it requires is going to gently caress a lot of teams when the retard squad starts playing. The Torp planes I've been a bit more meticulous with to create some really nice side on shots.
