I've had Jigen's Gravestone for a couple months now and I haven't watched it yet. Perhaps this weekend I shall. Thank you for reminding me to appreciate Jigen, thread.

I think Funi has it.

Cagliostro is a great movie, but it's also important to note that it's quite different from pretty much anything else Lupin. I believe Monkey Punch didn't like it very much because it was so light and "un-Lupin." Edit: Lupin the Third Page

So I just watched Jigen's Gravestone. It owned. Wondering what the end part was about. Was it a reference to the Fujiko series that I may have forgotten about, or a tease for a future project?

Ah, I see. Haven't seen Secret of Mamo. Probably should.

Speaking of Jigen's Gravestone.

Can I say I really like the artstyle of the new series? I love the thick linework, and in places it almost reminds me of the Fujiko/Gravestone linework, especially in Fujiko's hair. Also, gently caress any haters, blue jacket rules.

I'm hearing conflicting reports over whether the Italian airing is at 21:00 or 21:25, so maybe start checking at the top of the hour.

I didn't even realize they were supposed to be different voices until Zenigata.

Crunchyroll licensed Parts 1, 2, and 3 tonight. Come on, do the new one.

ZenMasterBullshit posted:So is there anywhere simulcasting the new show or am I gonna have to wait for official subs? Not yet, but seeing as Crunchyroll just put up the first three series, I wouldn't be surprised if they're getting it. They have two more fall acquisitions to announce, so we'll know shortly.

The first three TV series are all on Crunchyroll, Fujiko can be streamed/bought from Funimation, and some of the movies like Castle of Cagliostro and Secret of Mamo are on Hulu and are also easily available on DVD.

Yeah, I like that they both kinda need each other. They're each the best at what they do and they're the only ones that can keep the other on their toes.

It's also important to note that since you recently watched Cagliostro, The Woman Named Fujiko Mine is on the exact opposite end of the tone spectrum when it comes to Lupin. Like, they're right at the endpoints of that line.

Most of the nudity is in the first quarter to a half, and I think Fujiko does it a bit more tastefully than a lot of anime does it. That doesn't include Jigen's Gravestone, though. That was just weird.

There's Daisuke Jigen's Gravestone, which is a kinda-sequel to Fujiko Mine about an assassin who has Jigen on his hitlist.
