What party composition has low damage and low cc? Just like, 4 vestals?

What items effect what treasure?

Keys are for chests and cabinets but no strongboxes
Herbs effect tables, experiments, and food carts
Holy water works on ashes, shrines, confessionals, and altars
Torches burn parchment and books,
Shovels are for rubbles.

I still don't know what works with strongboxes or iron maidens (which seem to not only always be a negative effect but also do stress damage to claustrophobic people when you pass by)

My favorite ruins loadout so far is 8 food + 4-8 for each firewood, 4 torches, 3 keys, 3 holy water,1 shovel 1 herb. Assuming i don't have bad luck with traps i generally end up having to destroy food and holy water to fit more loot before the dungeon ends.

It's a high investment but I approve. Bandages and antidotes are really good though and you should consider dropping 2 holy water to fit them in and save some cost. Holy water isn't used that often though I'll bring two if it's a medium.

Using any consumable item will reward you with more than double it's buying cost. I'm spending 5k in town each week and 2k on materials and coming back with 10k in pure loot and whatever bonus for mission complete.

I can't imagine how people survive in high light after 5 or so weeks.

Camp on the third room and let your highwaymen clean their guns and you've won the dungeon.

Normal Adult Human

by FactsAreUseless
My starter highwayman cleans his guns, scouts ahead, and then gets eye of the tiger and a blessing and he had a 30% baseline crit with ranged attacks. It's a serious consideration whether i want him to immediately end the encounter with grapeshot or let it take longer for extra stress reduction.

edit: that guy is dead now.

Tiptoeing a bit around and then camping to relieve a high-stress party would probably also be a good strategy, especially in a dungeon with 2 firewoods you could probably burn off all of everyone's stress and retreat for 0 cost.

The game needs lose conditions. If enough weeks go by without going to each kind of dungeon [thing] should happen that makes you want to avoid letting [thing] happen. Maybe pigman attacks the town or hag starts kidnapping town merchants.

I have this weird suspicion they're making mercs to be holy/neutral/profane aligned, so the parties would sort something like

Vestal / (houndmaster?) / (man at arms?) / Crusader
Plague Doc / Bounty Hunter / Highwayman / Leper
Jester / Grave Robber / Occultist / Hellion

So houndmaster would be a cc specialist and man at arms would be a high hp damage do-er.

I actually took a leper on the hag fight, under the assumption that if he gets put in the pot he has enough HP that I can just burn the hag down before he even comes close to dying, and if someone else gets put in the pot he can get them out immediately with his outrageous front row damage.

Went ok. Maybe make it so he can use his self-buffs anywhere.

I tried this and he very very quickly ended up in the third row.

I was convinced at first that the trinkets had random stats, like Diablo 3 loot drops or something, because they are confusingly bad. But then I saw the same ones dropping more than once, so these were intentionally designed?

Then again, some of them seem way too good, even the "Common" quality ones. Why yes I will take two Bleeding Pendants, stack both of those on my Hellion, and get +20% damage and +30% chance to bleed skills without any penalties!

I got those. they're pretty good! the best trinkets in the game.

Cool idea: rework stress relief so that instead of it just being dump X guy in the bar or cloister for a week adventurers get a cut of the profit and will spend it at their own discretion on stress relief; you have no direct control outside of dungeons

Carrying heavy stuff into missions would make soldiers stronger, so you wanted a couple guys to carry rocket launchers they couldn't equip, so that one day they could.

Things i'd like to see:

Ruins: Killing a necromancer adds 10 weeks to the doom counter. (you have X weeks until the skeleton army marches loving on)
Weald: Killing a hag adds 1 new adventurer / week to the stage coach. (Remove stage coach upgrades. They're dumb.)
Warrens: Killing swine royalty raises the minimum level of your adventurers by 1.
Cove: Killing X Raises the level cap by 1.
DD: You win the game when you reach the bottom.

One thing they can do is add quirk-specific lines to the characters.

A highwayman with syphilis who yells, "your mother is uglier than the sores in my crotch!" as he attacks would be pretty drat funny (and sufficiently gross).

Sounds epic, gamer.

What are the worst negative quirks? I always remove stuff like non-rabies diseases and flat-out laibilities(weak hold onto life etc), but leave the ones that are like, "thinks he's possessed by demons", any in-town thing since there's usually enough room for everyone in any therapy place, or fairly harmless debuffs(-1 speed or -1 crit) since they waste a slot a potentially more harmful debuff might take.

Anything that reduces hit, followed by anything that reduces dodge, followed by crit, and damage, and negative stress modifiers.

Wilbur has killed 3 of my dungeonmans, in a single fight. The entire rest of the game combined has killed two.

An even cooler way to look at Wilbur: He has killed 10 levels worth of heroes. The entire rest of the game has killed 0.
