You still need to reformat it to FAT32.

If you put the new micro SD card (it must be the same capacity as the one in your old 3DS) into the New 3DS XL, and then run the system transfer, it formats it as far as I can tell from this video:

When I did my system transfer, I found out that I had filled 22.5/32 gb on my SD Card. Needless to say, it took a while to copy all of that to a computer then to the micro SD card.

I dunno how I have that much poo poo, but I do!

It's a bit of a stretch, but you might like Virtue's Last Reward. It's a spooky sci-fi anime game with branching storylines and first person "escape the room" puzzles that are sorta reminiscent of Myst's puzzle-solving. Doesn't quite have the same exploration element but there are a lot of levers to pull and buttons to press that do God-knows-what.

I agree with this but you should play Nine Hours, Nine People, Nine Doors first. If you can find it.

I bought the VIP upgrade because I'm a consumer whore

EDIT: WHY DON'T I GET THE BIRTHDAYS OF THE THOUSAND MIIS I'VE ALREADY STREETPASSED WITH IN MY CALENDAR? NINTENDO! :argh:

They added some new options to the old games. So now in Flower Town you can hit Invite Max and instantly have ten dudes, instead of sitting through a ton of pointless menus. Sweet!

EDIT2: The Streetpass games run much quicker and smoother now. Maybe they updated them to recognize the New 3DS?

Battleground Z is kind of amazing, it's like Mii Force but I actually want to play it!

Some of the tickets in Mii Force are so loving stupid, it makes me angry. Seriously, getting all the jewels in each level in one go is bullshit. If you miss one, you can only restart the level by killing yourself and you only get three tries until you either pay a ton of coins for more dudes, or streetpass ten more guys. And a lot of the levels require specific loadouts to get all the jewels which is just idiotic.

It's not one go for the jewels - it accumulates over multiple playthroughs. Some levels took me 2 or 3 times, a few took 10+.

Personally I found hitting the high score harder in a lot of levels.

The worst ticket of all 4 games, though, is the reputations. I don't know how many loving times you have to play the game, but, jesus. I got Warrior's Way's 300 battles done a lot faster and I just don't have the heart to get the reputations.

I have 194 more fights to go in Warrior's Way :shepicide:

So wait, if I miss one jewel, I can go through again and just grab that one? argh that game is so infuriating, I almost never play it

People playing the fishing streetpass game: When I combine two of the same rod to make a better rod, does the stats of the rods matter? I know that combining two of the same rod lets you improve the new one more (I have two Toy Rods, for example) but I am wondering if it starts with better stats if you improve the rods before combining them?

Fryhtaning posted:

Upgrading the rods by combining two toy rods will increase how many times you can improve the toy rod. My treasure rod +3 can have up to 6 improvements, which is just enough to max out its stats.

Combining a +3 rod with a base rod will result in a +3 of the new rod, so you won't lose your accumulated upgrades. My treasure rod +3 plus .. I think it was a toy rod, actually, would have resulted in another 2* rod that would still have been a +3, but I didn't do it since it was a worse rod overall.

However, you can effectively lose upgrades via truncation if the new rod has a lower maximum for a particular stat.

Do the improvements you make to the rods carry over to the new one? That's really what I'm worried about. I understand that a +1 can be improved 4 times, etc. but I don't know if I should improve the base Toy Rods before combining them or if that's a waste of money.

I can never understand the appeal of these "life RPGs" - stuff like Harvest Moon, Animal Crossing, etc. - why not just do all of that stuff in real life and enrich your actual existence? I get stuff like The Sims, or even job-specific simulators, since there is an element of power fantasy and wish-fulfillment there. But when it comes to gameplay like doing chores, paying your mortgage, earning income, forming relationships, etc. it just seems like such a waste of time & energy to me.

Not judging anyone, just intrigued by the psychology of all this.

The day I can IRL sell fish to buy furniture to trade with my cat neighbor for his t-shirt is the day I stop playing AC
