Yea, Studio City w/ its 2k 1 bedroom apartments is super affordable.

LA is a hellhole. Southern California has nice spots, but LA is unplanned density run amok.

I know I keep saying it, but everyone here should just move to Glasgow :scotland:

Does Glasgow need .Net developers? I'm game.

Chargers are "focusing their efforts downtown": http://www.chargers.com/news/2016/02/23/chargers-focus-efforts-downtown

Worst euphemism ever.

Now I'm picturing headlines "Nerds run Jocks out of San Diego"...should be interesting. Ross, what's your thoughts...is downtown viable?

You need a car in San Diego. That's my take.

No one take Chinatown seriously.

This. Anybody that lives anywhere with public transit has no idea what southern california is like. Unless you plan for transit from the beginning, it's not happening, there's no room. :(

I drove from the Bay Area to Santa Barbara today and I can tell you California fuckin ruuuuuules.

I unsuccessfully tried to talk my wife into letting me take 1 the whole way but it would have been like 6 hours.

I used to have to fly out to Burbank for work a few years back. Driving up around that area on the 1 is loving awesome. I grew up in San Clemente and miss driving along the beach.

I've lived here for 9 years now and I still don't understand why this is. But I can confirm it exists

I grew up in San Clemente and most people there hated either big city equally. I would think the traffic from SD-LA and back on a Sunday/Monday night would be the dealbreaker. Just getting to Qualcomm in SD is nightmarish enough, add what, 100 miles on the 5 to that drive as well?

edit: also any sort of accident on the 5 between oceanside and san clemente means you're just sitting in traffic with literally no where to go but the ocean and camp pendleton.

Oh yeah also tons of people in here still not quite getting that filling seats in the stands isn't nearly as important as getting eyeballs on TVs. To the NFL owners, who are the ones in charge, anyway.

When the stands are half-empty, that's taken as reflective of the unpopularity of the team, which is itself a concern for the owners. Sales of PSLs also matter as far as getting an arena to pay for itself. But actual game day ticket sales revenue? Much less important.

you'd have to think the hotel/casino chains would be buying up PSLs for premium seats/boxes/whatnot to use as perks for high rollers?

LA sprawl pretty much includes orange county all the way down to san clemente....the sprawl only stops because of camp pendleton.
