A thread referencing the Oakland Coliseum and not mentioning overflowing sewage? A shameful OP.

Admittedly I'm not too familiar with the Raiders' history but whenever a potential team moving comes up, all the fans of said team get upset (see: Chargers fans in this case) but Raiders fans are perfectly content with the team moving to the other side of the state. I know the Raiders were in LA for awhile, but it seems like no one in Oakland cares about them, or even the fans in Oakland are like "yeah they should move" because the Coliseum is that terrible.

Apparently the Best Fans™ couldn't stop a team from being moved. St. Louis' situation reminds me of the Kingdome issue Seattle faced. The stadium was only 20ish years old, the county still owed money on it, and both the MLB and the NFL were saying how awful it was. Thankfully a good playoff run saved the Mariners and Paul Allen saved the Seahawks. Sorry, Rams fans (and eventually sorry to Charger fans)

I feel like there are more Patriots fans in LA than Charger fans. If the team flounders and doesn't win, they aren't going to build much interest and more or less fade away into oblivion. This is especially concerning considering Phillip Rivers is on the wrong side of 35.

shirts and skins posted:They still didn't win anything, and now they never will. Still, OKC had good, young talent to build off of, and made it to the finals (thank you LeBron). They're in trouble now, and hopefully become bad for a very long time. The Chargers don't really have anything to build off of right now. Rivers, at best, has 5 years left in him (likely less than that), Bosa probably won't stick around given how the team handled his rookie contract. I predict a lot of 5-11 seasons, and no one is going to care. Even if they share that fancy new stadium with the Rams, the 49ers proved a new stadium doesn't mean you'll get fans in the seats if your on field product is garbage.

Still, the fact that he got the Mayor of Indy to contact his neighbor who was the CEO of Mayflower to send moving trucks to Baltimore immediately, and then to have them take different routes to get to Indy is insane. As soon as they hit Indiana they got police escort.

Remember that the Chargers lost a bunch of games in the 4th quarter this year too. But again, their window is pretty small.

If Rivers wants a ring, he probably should choose Houston or Denver. shirts and skins posted:When I went to WWU there was a place down the street named Super Teryaki, mismatched furniture and bare linoleum floors but delicious cheap teryaki chicken. County closed it down after it was cited for more health code violations than the kitchen at the county jail. Quietly reopened as Super Duper Teryaki, new furniture and a slightly different menu. Not. As. Good. I used to live right at the corner by Ken's and Super Teriyaki when I was at WWU. There was a few days I had to go on a liquid diet, and the moment I went off of it, I ordered some Katsu from Super Teriyaki. That meal ranks in the top 5 of most amazing meals of my life. The first place I moved to after college was Everett, right by where that bikini barista scandal broke.

When did you go to WWU? I remember a time entering one of the computer labs in Haggard and a person two computers away from me was browsing TFF. I only recognized it because I saw Gendo's Ann Frank Minnesota avatar out of the corner of my eye. I wasn't going to be a weird goon and ask stairs in a lab.

Yeah, the best outcome would have been if the Chargers got a new stadium in SD that was 100% funded by Spanos. On the flip side I have no idea what's best for the Raiders since it seems their fans root for them regardless of their location. The Oco Coliseum needs to get blown up, regardless lest the A's continue to play in poop.

Vegas could be using these taxes to fund schools or improve infrastructure, but instead they'll be used to subsidize billionaires. There's been a few recent cases recently of cities refusing to fund stadiums. The new NBA / NHL arena in Seattle, if built, will be 100% privately financed since the city kept balking at Hanson's proposals. Also, the Cubs asked Chicago for money to fund renovations to Wrigley, and Chicago kindly told them to pound sand, and the Ricketts' family ended up paying out of pocket.

Maybe because I'm still bitter about people using the "fans didn't try hard enough" excuse for the Sonics, but I hate it so much. It's just another form of blaming the victim.
