That weathering looks great! Nice subtle verdigris and the metal is shiny on the business end. I like how it's even shiny on the handle, which makes a lot of sense and is a really subtle touch.

edit: as an aside, learning to use Lahmian Medium has really been an interesting crash course in learning how to actually layer/highlight (not just drybrush the poo poo out of everything).

Thanks! The recipe is nothing special- waaagh flesh over black primer, shade generously with biel-tan green, then highlight with warboss thinned with lahmian medium, and again with skarsnik thinned with lahmian medium.

This guy has a rusted armor technique (explained in the tweet thread) that I tried out on my latest vampires- it's pretty fun to take for a spin and even though I'm not much a painter, it came out looking okay for me.

It is unknown whether the DEAD COIL callsign refers to a single operative, an honorific, a rank within the XX Legion structure, or is simply a Legion psyop. However, Inquisitorial records connect it with confirmed XX Legion activity though out history, dating back to the Battle of Pluto in 010.M31. What is known is that an Alpha Legion kill-team commander operating under the DEAD COIL callsign has been active in the Nachmund Gauntlet, notably armed with the daemon weapon "Manglemourn", formerly in the possession of XII Legion warlord Arlox Khaw. Twin to the daemon weapon "Goregrieve" still in Khaw's possession, it is speculated that DEAD COIL is using the connection between the two weapons to draw Khaw's World Eater warband into the Nachmund Gauntlet for unknown reasons.

Finally got back to painting, did up a heavy gunner for my Alpha Legion Kill Team

Unfortunately, the tracer rounds in the belt are coming off as Christmas lights, but then I guess a reaper chaincannon doesn't really scream "covert infiltration" anyways. Also lol at how low-res that decal from the Krieg sheet looks.
