serious post i'll vote for this dude and maybe even help in his campaign but at the same time my confidence in the legitimacy of american democracy is basically zero. idk whether to blame poo poo like citizen's united and other failures to reform our campaign system or whether it has to do with things like the dissolution of organized labor(which i believe is connected with how democratic a country is) but either way it doesn't seem like anyone's too concerned about it at the highest level

Moridin920 posted:He might be a socialist but the policy he is advocating is not socialist policy. He's not talking about nationalizing industries, he's not talking about wealth redistribution. He's talking about sane tax codes, ending corporate welfare, ending big money influence on politics, and creating real GOOD jobs for Americans (as opposed to a bunch of minimum wage seasonal McJobs). 100% agreed. his beliefs are socialist, his proposed policies push us further in that direction but are definitely not socialist. i would very much like it if he said we should nationalize an industry but that would probably result in his crucifixion.

is there a single major policy difference among Republican candidates other than Jeb Bush not having the token quasi-Hitlerian immigration stance? Huckabee announced today and it just seems kinda desperate and weird, like why the gently caress would anyone bother voting for that guy when there's probably 4 identical politicians already running
