This is not particularly nerdy (I think) but your comment reminded me of this.

When I was 15, I wrote a choose your own adventure story for my friends, that was probably about 50 pages long, that consisted of nothing much more than extremely graphic sex followed by death (yours, your lovers or both). I underestimated it's popularity and it got passed around to all the girls in my year and I briefly became very cool because all of a sudden people thought I had some mysterious sex life they knew nothing about.

Unfortunately I had just read too many Danielle Steele novels and had an overactive imagination.

Things that have happened when I was at Charles de Gaulle

- People spitting on the floor
- Information desk workers being rude as heck
- Some people came up to us demanding to sign a petition by thrusting a clipboard into my hands. They were then chased off by armed police/guards with their guns out and they pulled the clipboard out of my hand so fast it burnt my skin.
- A cashier shortchanging me.

Plus it has a very confusing and difficult to navigate series of terminals where getting from one end to the other is a huge pain.

You are incorrect. The worst airport is Mumbai airport.

Things that have happened when I was at Mumbai

- My connecting flight out of Goa left 1 hour late. When we arrived at Mumbai I had one hour to get from the domestic terminal to the international terminal. The only way to do this was via the airport bus.
- The airport bus did not turn up until 75 minutes later, so my flight left while I was still stuck at the domestic terminal
- The international terminal was a total construction zone due to the preparation for the 2010 Commonwealth games (I was there in 2009). There were no signs anywhere for anything and no staff to help
- I tried to contact my travel agent via their 24 hour emergency contact number, was on hold for 15 minutes before giving up. That phone call cost $60.
- Qantas only fly out of Mumbai every second day. They were happy to put me on the next Mumbai-Sydney flight but it didn't leave for 48 hours. Alternatively I could buy a ticket for Mumbai-Singapore (with a different airline) and they would convert my ticket into a Singapore-Sydney flight so I could leave that night. That cost me an additional $500
- I couldn't claim any of it back on travel insurance because the airline that flew Goa-Mumbai ignored every single email I sent them. All I needed was an email acknowledging that the flight arrived late to Mumbai.

On the other hand the best airport in the world is Changi in Singapore.
