I played D&D until my late teens.

Check, also still play. I have a weekly online game and a twice a month in person game. The online game switches systems frequently and we are doing dungeon world now, but the in person game is 5 edition straight up.

I played Eve, Battlefield 2 and Counterstrike throughout my mid to late 20s.

Mine is a bit more ad hoc than a planned monthly thing, but I probably get together with friends to play boardgames 2-3 times a month.

I'm sure I got one or two other things but that's what sticks.

I have friends that know this well and other friends where I pretend I'm cool all the time that don't know this, except maybe board game night.

Also I play Magic: The Gathering.

edit: Wade Boggs consistently hit over .300 but never won the MVP title because he didn't take steroids hit home runs.

Have you played much of 5e yet? I've been pleasantly surprised by how much I've enjoyed it.

I enjoyed my play of it, but explicitly not because of the system. I have a GM who rules on the side of having fun and people who I enjoy playing with. But I think the system is handicapping us more than helping us.
Also martials are nearly worthless, the best way to play a fight guy is not to take the fight guy class which is sad.

Little Mac posted:

I'm not as familiar with O'Malley. Why, in your eyes, is he terrible?

He brought Chicago style corruption to Maryland.

He got the state to buy 60 some thousand dollars worth of furniture for his governor's mansion and then when he was out of office, he turned around and purchased it from the state for less than 10k because every piece had been declared "junk:" by his administration.
He got several companies non-compete contracts with the state, as soon as he is out of office he gets cushy public speaking appearances with them for like 40k. Well more than the going rate for a governor public speaker.
He is well known for being an rear end in a top hat to everyone and generally just being a shady guy.
In very democratic Maryland, very republican Hogan came out to beat him handily after his second term. Because O'Malley was so terrible. If you want some numbers, he is polling at less than 4% in Maryland. Like no candidate does that poorly in their home state.

It isn't a blind flip, because if the fair coin is tails side up you wouldn't grab it if you are trying to get a heads. So it is actually 95%.
If the coin is tails side up, you grab a doubleheaded one and get heads 100% if the time.
If the fair coin is heads side up, it is 90% of the time heads as before.
So together, 95%.
