ARM Cortex-M3 is the one they have us learning. As far as kastein and I have discussed, it differs from x86 quite a bit and does this weird thing (it's probably not actually weird, just new to me) where it has an instruction shift of 16b on a 32b machine. You just point to the second half constantly.

The larger ones (typically 16mm) that are used for brake calipers and trans plugs, etc aren't an issue. But these 8s that hold in half shafts and poo poo are annoying as gently caress if someone else has already screwed with them, if you don't clean them properly (and they are always nasty on the half shafts) or if you don't come at them perfectly straight (also annoying on half shafts).

I've had android phones for a while. And I have an iphone 5 for the Flir One. The iphone is good, in a very limited, limiting way. The touch response is better than any android I've had. The rest, though, feels like Apple wants you to keep your hands to yourself and just let Apple tell you what you want. Android is more like "yeah, man, tear that poo poo up." I prefer Android.

Started at 8 AM local. It's now 5:30 PM. Nothing has been restored, and there's no domain for my workstations to connect to (I'm the desktop workstation guy on hand.)
I've just got paid to pretty much surf the web all day. I did remote back to the office and work a few tickets, but that's about it. I'll be back tomorrow to see if I have anything to connect to, and then I have Thursday and Friday off for my birthday, after being off Labor Day. I like how this week is shaping up.

We have hundreds of domain controllers so losing one is barely even worth reporting. Our regional data centers are high availability between themselves so losing one isn't even that bad. We have to lose two data centers in the same region to start the DR process.

Hahah, well, fair. I miss my old Geo Tracker, because it was the same. And honestly, our Venza (AWD) is more capable on snow/ice than the truck is. But the truck has some pretty solid clearance, and handles big bumps better. I haven't really done much beyond some relatively well-maintained fire roads and logging roads - the other stuff is why I really, really, really want to grab an old jeep to play with. But, well, houses are expensive. New furnace going in this year, as my insurance company is saying "gently caress you, its old, replace or get raped on prices".
