Ytlaya posted:So I just read up to the current chapter, and Kabru is definitely some sort of crazy/sociopath. It's really obvious that his ability to manipulate people is being put on display, and he seems to be capable of killing people with far too little hesitation. I mean, the setting isn't shy about how Resurrection is always a possibility so I'd imagine people care less about killing someone since they'll probably be back in two days.

It is quite a lot like Dark Souls in a way. You can't just marathon sprint through the entire dungeon like you're running from an exploding car. You've gotta take it slow, otherwise poo poo like the treasure bugs and sirens and kelpies are gonna catch you unawares.

EponymousMrYar posted:Marcille seems pretty normal until, y'know, casual dark arts/necromancy. In the recent chapters I've noticed her being drawn a little more wan/haggard than she was before the encounter with the Red Dragon. You're saying that after 16 levels of dungeon and monster cuisine, Marcille looks a lot more tired than before?

Considering the amount of them, I kinda want an Isekai thread.

Feels like this thread is pretty quiet most of the time but I have a contribution for once! I'm Stanning the Prince I'm not going to sell this well but whatever. The basic premise is that Emporer marries an Empress, she has two kids and he marries a second one who has one. The second one is murdered and rumors spread about the first two kids about them having supposedly having killed her. So public opinion of them is pretty low in general and they're very intimidating to look at in general. A commoner woman who's fond of the prince writes stories about him (fan-fiction) that a merchant takes and turns into a book and it actually becomes extremely popular and perception of the both of them begins to swing the other way in a positive fashion. Don't let my poor summary of it turn you off of it, it's very good and the author is very consistent about putting things at the end of the chapter to make you want to keep reading it.

Brought To You By posted:My point was that "fanfiction" as a term doesn't match the setting since the word is very much a recent construct. Doesn't have the same ring as "epic" or "ballad" does. Of course this is the same story that references Eminem in the title so... I don't know. It just pets my peeve. See, I was betting that you'd immediately catch that she's liberally throwing out the term 'fangirling' out as well as another confusing addition as well.

Fellis posted:I know most things in this thread have just been filtering over to wholesome isekai because of similar power fantasy themes, but whatever Yeah, this is a very well done manga, the art style shifts going on remind me of Fullmetal Alchemist or something. One question about the latest arc though who is responsible for this 'orcs capture and breed elves' trope and how do I make them stop?

Fellis posted:I considered putting some sort of warning for this content, but decided against it because while things are implied there (and in the ghost arc), they never show anything and it didn't feel lurid. Also it felt like one caveat too far for "hey this looks bad/tropey but it's actually really good". Tarezax posted:Porn. The answer is porn. Dammit, is the market for 'man and woman way out of his league' really this big or is this some 'one rich horny billionaire constantly demanding more and more of it' situation? Dark Gathering is still very good. It's all about ghost hunting. They're all trying to collect more and more powerful ghosts to confront the one that stole their ghost expert's mom. It's a fight manga, and it'll get really gory too, fair warning if you're not looking for that. Mieruko-chan is also a good manga. Not quite a battle one like Dark Gathering is though. A High School girl named Miko is suddenly able to see ghost abominations and is doing her best to maintain a poker face because these things are all terrifying but god only knows what would happen if she reacted to their presence as well.
