There was something oddly charming about Snoke slamming Hux face first into the ship deck and literally mopping the floor with him Like a parent chastising a child We see it again when Snoke lets Rey think she's called the lightsaber to her, only to smack her over the head with it I enjoyed the film, even with its numerous eye-rolling moments

And she did alright with them until she started incorporating the Jedi into her works and proceeded to drag them through the proverbial and literal mud to make the Mandos look good She wasn't a fan when The Clone Wars' version of the Mandalorians rendered her history of them essentially obsolete by turning them into pacifists It's a fascinating train wreck to research - quite the Travissty

Milky Moor posted:easy to see why they cut this. similar to finn as a whole, it's a bit strange to humanise the dudes your heroes will soon cut down en masse, leaving you to wonder if that one stormtrooper was part of the casualties Unless you're a Resistance A-Wing pilot who gets lots of sceentime in the opening fight, only to get blown to smithereens by the bad guys

Wheat Loaf posted:I played Dark Forces II: Jedi Knight when I was younger, and the main character in that is able to instantly master the Force and defeat seven Dark Jedi (one of whom was a former Jedi master who went over to the dark side) on the same day he picked up a lightsaber for the first time, so perhaps I am just inured to it. That's more because of Kyle Katarn's fabulous facial hair, which gave him a deeper connection to the Force than your average hairless Jedi Every living thing is connected to the Force, and hair is partially alive, so having more of it means more Force affinity Or maybe it's a video game, which usually means some things are exaggerated for the sake of gameplay Can't wait to find out he's a member of the Knights of Ren, even though he's already got two NuCanon counterparts in Cassian Andor and Kanan Jarrus/Caleb Dume

How much you wanna bet the ESB gal was the mother of the TLJ gal? "Mom, what's our life calling?" "Getting between two lovers arguing. You'll know what to do when the time comes."

Some interesting things from the Director's Commentary track - some of which I'm sure has already been covered: Rose was meant to be a grumpy eeyore before becoming a fangirl The porg mother and chicks on the Falcon were kept in because Kennedy liked them Kelly and John spent the last two weeks perfecting the reaction shots for the fathier chase (motion control rigs were involved) Frank Oz suggested a more interesting introduction for Yoda, and helped with the editing process, and that it was Mark Hamill's reactions to the puppet that helped bring the scenes to life Holdo's actress kept saying "pew pew" when firing the blaster Much like Ewan and Hayden during Episode III, Adam and Daisy had the throne fight down so well that it freed Johnson to instead focus on camera work and avoided close-ups to cover lack of skill on the actors' part The Falcon flying through Crait was modeled after the Star Tours comet sequence

I would laugh so hard if the Knights of Ren had popular Legends-era names attached to them Kyle Katarn, Kyp Durron, Corran Horn, Tahiri Veila, Tenal Ka, etc

Ah-ha, I've figured out how to improve Attack of the Clones Remove the entire "Anakin and Padme go to Naboo" segment and replace it with Obi-Wan tracking down a lead on Jango Fett that leads him to the Casinos on Cato Neimoidia for half an hour, and from there, to Kamino

I mean, Finn latched on to Poe, and Rey real quick in TFA, so... I'm still trying to figure out how someone raised from childhood by the First Order knows what a boyfriend or girlfriend is When are we getting the short story about Finn's love for romance novels?
