Yeah I was reading some "AMA" style thing from a US drone operator. He was there to counter all the terrible propaganda and bad stats you get about drones. It's all lies from the red cross, drones kill almost no civilians ever. You see the red cross counts any drone strike where the victims were not armed or actively engaging in some sort of terrorist activity as "civilian", which is total bullshit. Just because a bunch of terrorists happen to be a big extended family and we hit them in their house doesn't mean they were civilians. Of course there were no weapons or bomb making supplies found after, they don't keep those things at home. We bomb terrorists where ever they are, the red cross and other international organizations have no loving clue who is or isn't a terrorist and it's extremely dangerous for them to make these sweeping judgements of everyone's innocence. Terrorists are really good at pretending to be innocent civilians, they do it on purpose so when they get bombed it makes the US look bad.

This guy went on and on for a very long time about how bullshit civilian casualty stats are, and how every single kill he's ever made as a drone operator were against terrorists and anyone living in a terrorist family is involved in some way, so they're all supporting the enemy. How does he know they were all terrorists? The military told him so, and the military has really good intel unlike the Red cross and their dangerous assumptions of innocence.

The Red Cross is a criminal organization that should be banned from the US for giving are troops PTSD from guilt and spreading terrorist propaganda that the US is killing civilians.

I went back to the Friday posts and saw if there had been anything really said about the Conservative leadership convention colliding with Anime North, and not as much. I was there, getting my Weeb on and while I didn't see anything, i sure as hell heard stuff. McLeans has a pretty good article about the whole thing

Though I heard some Conservative delegates were complaining that due to the crowds they missed the vote, so if true, that means we have have effected the vote as Scheer won by such a small number.

And wow, as someone who will benefit from the Minimum Wage increase in Ontario, I just feel poo poo upon by all the people claiming doom and gloom for the province because of it. Oh no, we can't pay people more, small business! People saying they're going to have to lay off their staff because they cannot afford to pay them, and then when told that maybe they should run their buisness better, claim that they pay them what the market will bare and don't want to be told how much to pay people. The only place i've used them is the new Canadian Tie that's just a streetcar ride west from me. As I've work on tills for years, I am pretty comfortable using them, but I see people who aren't having a lot of trouble, and there's always someone there to help them. So they're not really decreasing labour. Not to mention you still need to have staff to stock shelves, help people find things, handle customer service issues and so on.

That Imgur guy is clearly an rear end in a top hat, yes fire a pregnant woman as soon as she gets back from mat leave, yes that is what a good employer would do. I've seen a bunch of people go "oh i run my business really well, and my staff loves working for me, but I can't have the government telling me that i have to pay them more! I cannot afford that!" I really doubt these people's employees really do love working for them.

Does none of these people know that paying someone minimum wage is saying "if i could pay you less, i would". None of these people who are bitching about it realize that with more money in peoples pockets, they're going to spend it, and no just on basics, but on luxury goods. Mr Baker will have more customers because people will have more money. More money in the economy is always good. These greedy tools that can't see past the pile of money they're getting are completly blind to this.

I've been yelled at multiple times by people who have way better jobs than me how this is going to ruin everything, and that if i want to get a better job, i should get one. So on a another topic, how much money is it going to cost to fix the Toronto islands and the Beaches? I live near Woodbine beach and its at least 80% underwater. While the weather has been poo poo lately, it won't stay that way, and a lot of people rely on summer crowds in both places for a lot of their yearly revenue (seriously, come to the beaches in winter and its a ghosttown).
