I've been close before but died to the Tombs or Zigg when I get cocky and think I can tab through everything. But with a GrFi, Gozag and some good luck on items, I basically could tab through everything. Hey, I'd try to contribute a win, but the floorgod has been hating me. Every artifact I've seen has *Drain for some reason. Also, I'm stuck on suiciding spriggans.

It's come to the point where I'm loathe to fighting them unless I've got some sort of advantage. Oddly, I've had an easier time killing them as a melee character now than in previous versions.

How about Valuable, a modifier that lets you evoke the item to make it produce gold, with a risk of it being destroyed as you strip the valuable materials off of it.

Level 9 Enchantment/Transmutation - Body Swap: If the target doesn't resist, you swap bodies with the target. You have the targets HP, stats and equipment. All enemies are confused. Your old body is confused and hostile. After X number of turns, you return to your old form as if polymorph has ended. This means that, if you killed your old body, you can actually eat yourself.

I save potions of might for fighting player ghosts or particularly tough uniques. I don't think I use potions of agility at all, except when quaff-IDing.

IronicDongz posted:In an older version I fought a lone goblin who just would not go down, until I finally killed him and he dropped the +9 armour of the Dragon King once upon a time, monsters that could use weapons or wear armor would pick up weapons/armor off the floor if it looked better than what they had. This led to lots of shuttling good/dangerous items to already cleared floors or to branch entrances, so that random spawns wouldn't suddenly be kitted out in all the most dangerous loot from (dead) enemies on the floor.

Old Dun Cow posted:In the turn before the image below, I was standing in the tile to the left of the stairs with a visible alarm trap to the northwest. I hit 'O' and stepped directly on to the trap and then was attacked by an unseen horror. My guess was that the unseen horror was in the tile that autoexplore wanted to move me to, so it picked the next available tile even though it had the alarm trap. It could be entirely unrelated to the invisible enemy though. Note that it says "you hear a blaring wail to the south" It wasn't that YOU stepped on it, it was the Unseen Horror that stepped on it and set it off.

Equipable aura items that degrade in effectiveness over time (or just last x number of turns before burning out), but can provide 1-3 different weak effects or (or have 1 effect 2 times to make it strong). Possible auras include god effect auras at low piety versions, Ozo's armor, repel missiles, etc. Probably some other cool ones you could add.

FR: Sebi, god of restarts. **regenerate the floor of the dungeon you are on, including all enemy locations, placing you at one of the down stairs **** all seen items (on all floors) and items in your inventory reroll as if being generated for the first time ****** your race is rerolled to a random race, instantly granting you all abilities relevant to your level and removing ones from the old race (this lets you pick new stat choices). Your exp is still in the same skills however, and new attribute levels will apply.

I have a solution! Amulets of Evolution.

seriously, if Amulets of rMut are considered to be boring, then lets make it interesting. Amulets or Rings of Evolution. They could do a few different things. 1) cause purple chunks to weigh slightly more in favor of good muts 2) give a chance to randomly cause mutations as per the Evolution mutation 3) cause all muts to individually have a chance to reroll every so often, with malmutes having a slightly higher chance to reroll, but an even chance of the reroll being good or bad 4) some combination of the above 5) something else weird and wacky and awesome Removal of the ring/amulet causes you to gain a random malmut. I would also like to see a Uranium Ring or Uranium Amulet, that causes you to constantly gain a small amount of contam (as opposed to slowly losing it as normal), but you have a radiation aura that mutates/contams enemies that are nearby. Also, you glow, so it's hard to hide.
|
# ¿ Apr 5, 2016 21:24 |

contamination as penalty is boring in and of itself, and too many other amulets already penalize you with contamination. We need more variety.
|
# ¿ Apr 6, 2016 00:14 |

Better idea Amulet of Evolution: once worn for enough turns, the amulet melds with your body and you gain Evolution at the highest level. Removing the amulet resets how long you need to wear it. Having any form of rMut (either mutation or one of the randarts) will increase the number of turns required for it to take effect.
