Yeah, Finn had to die

Is just me or 3rd season is significantly worst than the first two?

New tribes and characters are pulled in out of nowhere and then abandoned after doing little, the plot seems to be going at all directions at once, characters do dumb idiotic things seemingly just to advance the plot to where it needs to go and that gameofthroney aesthetics for the grounders is really cheezy

They fabricated that Bellamy girlfriend just so she could die and give him a reason to be very angry at grounders so it would not be so idiotic that he would folllow that shithead Pike, but still it makes no sense because Bellamy (and Pike himself) ought know they have no chance against 50000 grounders, and so betraying the alliance like that was simply suicide. That made me so irrationally angry. The farming station people seems to have been introduced just to gently caress up the situation now that the survivors should be smart enough to not treat all grounders as enemies

They set the Ice Queen has some big villain and then 2 episodes later she is dead, after achieving little more than removing a scenario (mount weather) and giving an excuse for that duel

And please, could someone just kill Jasper

Im at episode 5 and the only thing that keeps me going is the city of light plot

season 2 was fantastic, but season 3 took one hell of a nosedive in literally every respect

Yeah, season 2 was very good. It's story had a clear direction, excellet pace and all of its plots had been prepared back at season 1. Nothing came out of nowhere and so it was full of interesting reveals like "oh that what reapers are! makes sense" etc. Now we have stuff like "ice nation" and the farming station people produced from nowhere and very badly developed. And several characters seems to be backtraking their own development, like Bellamy suddenly becoming a untrustable moron

Clarke actress seems to be always a bit embarrassed, like she is feeling ashamed of the ridiculous over the top fantasy garment and that heavy "wild" makeup she is wearing all the time

The big problem with Pike is that he (and his people) came out of nowhere and their xenophobia seems completely irrational, considering the situation (they know have no chance of winning against the grounders in a war, so why provoke it?). But even worst is Bellamy 100% supporting him after a 5 minutes talk, he who above everyone should know better

INH5 posted:

They don't use the Grounders for blood transfusions, or at least not conventional blood transfusions. We're shown the procedure in 2x05 and it's more like using them as human dialysis machines. Running out of blood shouldn't be an issue - any blood that the Grounders end up losing should be replaced by an equal amount of MM blood. The reason why it kills them is because the procedure has harmful side effects, as shown when Jasper starts puking afterwards, and presumably if they do it too often the "donor" will die.

Which is pretty much entirely made up, but real life blood donation science is still irrelevant.

Also, we have no idea how many 'treatments" the MM actually need, or how many Grounders they can bring in each year, so we don't have any numbers to crunch anyway.

Speaking about the medical science behind the MM, is there any valid reason why they would need to collect the bone marrow like that, with the subject alive, awake and not sedated?

edit: also, about radiation: the MM will melt after seconds of exposition, and that after 97 years. Becca arrives at the ground right after the nuclear explosions, the sky is still dark, and she seems to be holding up alright. wtf?

Ive finished the 3 season and I got a question: so the grounder commander has (and always had) A.I inside their heads, ok. But what difference does it makes?

Lexa was smart, but for her own merits, not because of that (at least that is what Titus says). She still was less smart than Clarke and did not seem to have any extra knowledge or anything like that because of the "flame". And even with the A.I, the grounders were totally helpless against the mountain men for decades before the Ark people showed up and came up with a plan to destroy them. So, what ALIE 2.0 even does?

yeah, except she does not seems to have that at all? The plan against Mount Weather was Clarke, the grounders didn't even understand what the mountain men were before the ark people came

Not only Lexa only followed Clarke's plan, she also betrayed it for no good reason when they were about to storm in and win

Also clearly it's better to leave the MM alive because they would never go back on their word and start attacking you again, now with radiation immunity! All the ghost leaders wept at her decision.

Yeah. And probably they woulndt even have time to execute all those prisoners. And even if they could kill them all, previously Lexa sacrificed and entire village she could have saved so to not compromise this very plan, because beating the MM was so important

The gate was open, the army was ready, they had Bellamy and co. free inside, all they had to do was to rush in and finish the MM, the very dangerous and evil guys who had been killing, slaving, and harvesting then for blood for decades, and had missiles and weapons of mass destruction. And instead of just finishing them for good, when she had the enemies on her hand, she choose back out. Very smart indeed

I think you're greatly overestimating how easy it is to assault a fortified bunker defended by people with modern firearms and explosives who have literally spent their entire lives inside that bunker with a force consisting of several thousand warriors who are scared of guns plus maybe a few dozen space cops. The writers actually originally scripted a scene where the Grounder+Arker army gets the door open only to be met by two .50 caliber machine gun turrets that proceed to slaughter wave after wave WWI-style. Then Lexa decides to take the deal. Unfortunately they didn't have the budget to film that.

Yes, but that's why it would make sense that she would take her chances even if they had machine guns waiting for them inside, because anyway they had am excellent opportunity and would not have it again anytime soon. I mean, the MM have been their plague, their oppressors, their biggest problem for a lot of time, decades. And they have been real monsters, really evil. And then, for the first time, the grounders actually have chance to end it all, to beat them, exterminate that danger. And they were so close: the army was at the gate, the gate was bust, they had a guy inside wreaking havoc, and another team ready to infiltrate from the tunnel door. They never been so close, and realistically, they would never be on that same position again anytime soon. And she chooses to take a deal and go home

That was so dumb and coward that even her own people wanst happy about it,. and Clarke became the legendary "wanheada" because she finished the job

But anyway, my point was: the commander is supposed to be helped by this A.I inside her head, and all previous commanders, who are there too. But we dont see that, it does not seems to make any real difference. They act like completely dumb clueless primitive morons, and the MM would still be oppressing and controlling them if wanst for the Ark kids, the same ones the grounders were trying to exterminate from the very begging for... reasons

Also: Clarke gets the bad rep, but Bellamy is so much worst

Yes, she was responsible for a lot of deaths. But Bellamy is guilty of even more. He is as guilty as Clarke of the Mount Weather massacre (something people seems to forget all the time. It took ALIE possesed Raven to say it out loud for the first time), but he is also guilty of the 300 killed at the Ark and of the 300 killed by Pike and himself. And the MW deaths were unavoidable, but the Ark sacrifice and the friendly army butchered were both pointless and avoidable, if Bellamy wanst so dumb and selfish

Octavia should have reserved spots for all Skicru people and than shared the rest with the grounders. It would be perfectly fair:

- they found the bunker
- they offered to share it before and the grounders wanted it all for themselves
- they are the ones who knows how to operate it
- the grounders have always been assholes to them
- they won the loving thunderdome the grounders themselves demanded

But then again, she was left out by them, and would have died if wanst for her brother, and that after she fought to death for these people. So it kinda make sense that she was pissed off and didnt wanted to give skicru any more than the others had
