Best to do it on a new playthrough, since for the most part, you're free to clear out an entire area then go back and find all the hidden nooks and crannies

The map is a godsend for this, since it shows the entire map once acquired

I suck at controller-based games, but I managed to Monkey-on-Typewriter my way through DOOM without much difficulty

It takes practice and the game ramps up slowly enough to get you used to using a controller if it's not your strong point

Foundry and Hell Knights are pretty much the test you have to pass; after that, it's smooth sailing

There were only a few levels that actually had points of no return - I do believe most were endgame anyway

Just check your map and see if there's any areas or little paths you haven't been to yet before taking a teleporter or whatever

First time I ever touched Dark Souls was III and I beat the first boss on my second attempt

Then I dropped the game and went back to games like Half-Life, Prototype, and DOOM since those are more my speed

At least the Soulsborne games look pretty; drat shame the lore is (literally) all over the place and takes time and effort to piece anything together

Suffer through the first game's complex late 00's control system and enjoy the story while the sequel flips the two aspects around, with fun, fluid controls (being able to hold jump to control your height instead of charging it makes things so much easier...) while grimacing your way through the story and wrecking of a great character

Plus, similar to games like DOOM and The Force Unleashed, you're an unstoppable Juggernaut of literal mass destruction, which is great

There was The Incredible Hulk game based on the MCU movie that was a VERY watered-down version of Ultimate Destruction though - about the only similarity was using cars as gauntlets, a wimpy take on the whole Abomination plotline, and there's a threat meter

You can't even run up buildings, instead you grab it and haul yourself up in ever-increasing leaps, which got a little absurd at some points due to the verticality of some buildings

There was also an "escort the car" mission, except this time it's a tank and like how you couldn't just grab the car and book it, you can't haul the tank around to avoid the many obvious ambushes

Better Equipment Rune + Siphon Grenade = Armor being restored while at full health = infinite ammo rune is always active = Micro-Missile/Mobile Turret Spam for eons

Although infinite plasma rifle is also fun, especially with the "Get Away From Me" mod that fills up in no time flat
