Figured it would be easier to just demolish it using a wrecking ball so poo poo like this wouldn't happen

It's got a giant tower that would fall and crush a wrecking machine. Check out Fred Dibnah, steeplejack, on youtube

I'm not sure fingerless gloves are a sensible choice of PPE for radioactive dust.

People overestimate the risk from radiation constantly. With a simple dust mask I could hold a half pound of Uranium indefinitely with absolutely zero risk. It's actually on my bucket list.

It's been a few years but I'm no stranger to working with radioactive sources. He'd be much better off with some nitrile gloves, but you never see those in fallout...

What I want to know is when they previously filled the interior spaces with foam, it was obviously done so the vessel wouldn’t sink, right? Now, it’s tied up obviously semi-permanently, but’s did they do anything to assuage the original concern that it would sink, or are they going to come back to their office one day and find it with the tide lapping up over the desks?

Light ships had to stay afloat in horrendous conditions, so filling empty/unnecessary holds with foam was probably a good idea. From the name it looks like this particular one used to be stationed in my neck of the woods https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Goodwin_Sands

The water turns into a protective layer of steam. Seeing as I recently burned the poo poo out of my hand by steam when making a cup of tea, I'm not about to put my trust into that.

I've done that loads of times with flasks of liquid nitrogen
