the way my fiancee explains it: hobby lobby is against paying for employees birth control so they're conservative types and shouldnt have my business, but their home trinkets inventory is way better than michaels. michaels is for those who wish to respect the liberal agenda. well i guess thats all it really has going for it... op. i went to a hobby lobby once cuz I needed plasticard for making airbrush stencils but they didn't have any. then i went to michaels, but at least they had airbrush components

they are absolutely real hobby shops....real CRAPPY! Seriously though, Michaels is alright for on the fly craft materials and has better fabrics if you are a casual and don't have a local fabric store you can work with. Joannes is also pretty good but their fabrics are terrible. Really these places are just for emergencies because you can get nearly all of it online cheaper.
