Help Im Alive posted:Was the white hoodie really that great idgi It's not the hoodie so much as there's already a decent number of beefy dudes in the game, so someone like Ed who doesn't resemble a fighter in his really casual clothes and small frame sticks out more and brings variety to the cast. Capcom decided they just wanted another Nash and beefed him up and now he looks like everyone else which is lame and bad. Ed has fafnir and it's basically a juggle tool. Idk what its use is on its own because it seems to just put Ed near the opponent if he throws it fully charged, but then they can just jump over it and punish him for it.

I also just genuinely dislike how loving enormous he is from a gameplay perspective, but whatever. He's not offensively bad, but he's not really worth even chuckling at I feel because turning generic muscular henchman into goofy playable character has been done to death in SF now.

I can't believe they managed to make me excited for more SFV content. Cody and Sakura look great, the two new characters are cool, Sagat, and uh Blanka I guess. Hopefully the changes to the system are good, because I would like to actually enjoy this game.

Especially after playing Xrd again recently, a game where you actually interact with your opponent and have very individualized characters that all feel very unique. The comparisons to SFV are apt in that you have very canned combo routes and are incredibly limited and how to innovate them with incredibly samey looking high level play, but I would definitely argue the game got a lot more good will because of how beautiful it is and the fact if nothing else it at least feels fun to press buttons in it and it shows a lot of its character personality in a ton of ways, whereas SFV is part of a franchise that has had a company that's progressively pissed off its fans and created one of the most sterile fighting games in history in every way it can possibly be. If you enjoyed the first one you might still like it but it has a lot of the same gameplay loop just with less rng on the extra battles happening. It also has a ridiculous dearth of DLC to make it through and idk, that game with as much content as it has with the gameplay it does gets incredibly boring and samey. If you ever do online fights that's a miserable hell in and of its own right too.

Ed and G are genuinely cool characters I hope had any chance of making it into future games, but that might also be a double edged sword because idk if Capcom is going to make another SF game I like

I honestly can't gauge how good Ed's is but it gives me some big damage if I combo with it so I think it's okay? Might not be worth using over snatcher, but it's def got utility.
