DOG controls your destiny. Seek out three items of his favor and then seek his shrine.
Bull Moose Teddy is really solid with the new district. Getting the +2 faith from high appeal tiles pantheon really makes for great way to get a ton of parks going. I was top 3 for science for a long time in a culture game on deity. Its nice not having my units be super far behind and really satisfying seeing these yields

Maybe I'm an idiot when it comes to Bull Moose Teddy, but I keep rolling a bunch of rainforest and floodplains so there's not many places to stick NPs. I haven't got up to Conservation yet, though, so perhaps it'll look better once I start popping down a few parks.

Also, can preserves be included as part of a national park or do they have to be outside the boundaries? 'cause it looks like they could only improve 2/4 NP tiles if outside.

E: also I don't comment on it enough but this is a very pretty game.

The preserve itself can't be in the park but the enhanced tiles can be.

If you like having more room to expand try playing on a lakes map. It tends to have plenty of space between civs.

With a city state you definitely can. I've had that happen a handful of times in multiplayer when we've gone beyond the recommended # of players.

I think one of the things I'd really like to see added to the game is a mid-game wonder that lets you pick a 2nd pantheon from the leftover beliefs. It would be nice to be able to get one as a do-over when you pick one that doesnt end up being as good as you thought when you have more map knowledge. It would also be neat to have a wonder thats a generalist thing since it could benefit most victory types depending on what's available.

So I see this is currently on sale. As someone who loved Civ 4 and found 5 okay but not as good as 4, is this worth picking up?

I played a ton of 4 and I've really come around on 6. It's pretty different but very enjoyable. I'd recommend it. Def get the major expansions. Starting out if youre not sure who to pick Rome is a good all around civ to start with.

Hungary is usually pretty aggressive. I've also had several games where Kristina goes nuts and rushes me with a half dozen warriors on turn 25

I didn't really like the culture picks in V because it seemed like there was one tree significantly better than the others. Likewise the ideologies seemed like one was way better than the others.

I think the cards in VI have a similar issue but since you have more flexibility it makes it more interesting to me. Getting a ton of science from +100% campus adjacency is good but having to weigh whether a situation calls for swapping out to get a key wonder or boost loyalty in a pinch feels more interesting than picking one of the 3 options on turn 20 and having it forever.

Gauls biggest strength is how fast you can get to men-at-arms. You get your special district up and it gives you the production needed to crank a couple out. You can usually just roll over your nearest neighbor with them.

You gotta get your liyang fisheries going. It's def worth moving her around to build them in your coastal cities. The extra housing alone is worth it
