The Space Raiders KS just launched - https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/554542735/space-raiders-the-orcs-are-here This really tempts me, they've done a really good job with the Oldhammer style for 40k, even down to the Khorne Ork, Hybrid, Ambull and Zoat. I really hope they keep this up and do other ranges in the future as it may be a good way of getting affordable reinformcements for my Salamanders

Macrocosm's Chaos Scrunt KS is live and already funded - https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/2076383099/dark-dwarves - could be useful if you want an Abyssal Dwarf army but hate Mantic's figures.

Merauder posted:Hex is hardly the only TCG to ever have 60 card decks, and the life totals have since changed to being variable based on the Champion selected for the deck (Champions being a feature always present in Hex from the beginning, and never in traditional MtG, so...). I guess you never heard of Vanguard then. In the physical game from around 1998, and added to Modo in 2005 (with a bunch of fancy new ones which have mechanics that only really work in a digital game). --- In other Kickstarter news, Level 99 look to be finally shipping the rest of the Millennium Blades first wave stuff to Europe (hopefully they learned their lesson to not use Ideadespatcher again). As a show of good faith, they've announced they'll be sending European Backers the two new promo sets for free when they come out, which is pretty neat (equivalent of the $21 pledge for the reprint campaign). Slimnoid posted:How's the quality? I was mildly interested in it but not quite enough to drop money, so I'm curious as to how good the build on them are. OK got it home and it assembled pretty easily. It works well enough though the googly eyes in the front need a little sanding as there's just enough friction to stop the top ramp closing naturally. No glue needed, though I might do so anyway if I ever get around to painting it for double duty as scenery The freebie objective marker was neat too though a little less precise as the tabs at the bottom didn't quite slot into the base. But I can't really fault it as it looks neat and was free!

So, the War Titans KS that was essentially 'Pacific Rim: The Boardgame but also look at these other animes we have ripped off' has been cancelled: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/ccgames/war-titans-invaders-must-die They say they did it because they want to re-look at the game and take on board comments about design etc. (seriously the text on the cards is awful!) but I suspect it's more likely they got hit with at least one C&D and don't want to admit it. I wouldn't be surprised if this relaunches with different sculpts entirely.

I love the aesthetic on that, beats the hell out of generic Zombie/Steampunk/Cthulhu/Vikings/Pirates etc. I'm wondering how close the manoeuvre pieces are in dimensions to the XWing ones, as there are already rad trans acrylic templates produced by third parties which'd look good for this game.

Looks like Marrow hit a bad patch, tis a shame. I saw the minis in person at Essen a couple years back and they looked drat good! At least some backers have received the base game so it's not a write off of Far West proportions. If Argent is anything to go by L99's figures are competent if not mindblowing, but tbh those are smaller pawns to who knows what they'll be like if they go to town on larger scale stuff. They should get Werner Klocke to do the sculpts, he's good with that kind of intricate detail

Hackjack posted:What do you guys think of Monster Slaughter by Ankama Board Games? A friend of mine had the chance to try it out at Spiel. Apparently it's ok but has some balance issues between the different monster families and mechanics which dissuade you from actually searching for the victims. e.g. the Vampires draw more cards when searching, but it still uses up an action. So a common issue was a Vampire moving into a room and searching, finding a victim but being out of actions to attack them. Then the other players now have a target and just pile in their monsters and attack. Since you get points for attacking and killing the victims, you're actively dissuaded from actually searching for them because it just lets the other players score more than you. It's possible they'll have the issue resolved by launch but I don't see a rulebook on the campaign page to check.
