Evil Mastermind posted:In other news, the Dark Souls board game is getting panned. Tom Vassel gave it a bad review (I haven't watched it yet myself) and people on BGG are getting pissy already. I mean, I think this was a doomed thing from the start. Dark Souls is a good, hard video game that is pretty well-designed. But it suffers from two things: 1) it isn't as good as everyone says it is as some of it is inflated by hype and the reality that it was a breathe of fresh air that can and has gone a bit stale and 2) hard and difficult is time-consuming as gently caress and anyone with a 40+ hour/week job are gonna be hard pressed finding time to play it. These two things are working against it sequels in video games and kind of kills its chance in board games. I can't find anyone to play a board game IRL without going to a store. Even then, we're talking maybe 1hr session per board game max (unless you're sitting in for a war game). No one has got that kind of time. Hard and diffcult video games in a market of handholding was fun, but means nothing to board games. The levels, world, bosses, and enemies were welldesigned, but that is something that doesn't translate inherently to a board game. Dark Souls without its tight design and its novetly is boring as a video game already (see Lords of the Fallen) and I can't imagine it fairing better being moved to a board game.

I view it as an extension of EP's business model. You back to support the product more than to get thr product. Ultimately, all of EP is free and legal. The point of giving any money is to help Posthuman Studios.

How hard, seriously, can it be to just stich together some crap and put it out? Like, at this point, just bite the bullet, splooge something out, and call it done to get the noose off your neck. Evil Mastermind posted:"Trying to find the secret number between 12 and 13" is still the dumbest piece of pseudo-gnostic wonkery I've ever seen. Even more so when you consider that there is infinite numbers between 12 and 13. Hell, they're infinite numbers between 0.1 and 0.2. Mind you, it's different size set of infinite when compared to, let's say, the infinity of whole numbers, but infinity of different sizes is not a necessary discussion to have to disprove this wankery.

I was originally going to just post a emoticon with the link, but I'm now confused if this is an anime-waifu-gently caress-moe-girls game or not. Regardless, it's some weird pbta game with no previews so yeah. I mean, yeah, there is a video that is like 2 hours long of the developer explaining the game, but, uh, it'd be easier just to post a loving sample and let us see. Anyway, originally posted it as a joke as I assumed it was just an anime-waifu-gently caress-moe-girl game that was so blatant it was humorous, but now I'[m just confused. Can't tell if porn or if the guy just thought "monstergirls" would sell his entirely unreleated concept. Probably somewhat lewd. Also, all the updates are just fiction about the setting so the guy probably doesn't GET PbtA. Link (probably nsfw since I wouldn't want "monster girls" in my office search history): https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/josephleebush/heroines-of-the-first-age/description Fake Edit: Well, I guess this is what they say on that: quote:Is this game lewd?
