Just watched both again.

I totally forgot about the trash can in ova 2. That poor thing. Can you imagine being a trash can that wants to carry trash for disposal, but not having any arms? It looked so dejected when Akko missed her shot. It couldn't do anything.

I recently rewatched both of the ovas, and honestly Akko being annoying didn't bother me.

She was just about as annoying in the first OVA, and it just seems like it's her character. She's ... just kind of annoying, but also very endearing and earnest. So I expect her to get even more annoying in upcoming weeks - because she was pretty annoying in ep1 too.

The whole episode was super cute. Frank being into Lotte, the girls' frilly Cinderella dresses, and that "Eeep!" sound that Akko made everytime someone fell in fake-love with her.

The scene at the fountain was really good too. Somebody - probably Yoshinari - you can tell, really loves making Akko move. It was really dynamically animated!

EDIT: Also, Andrew reading Orwell's 1984. That was pretty good!

I loved everything about it, especially those parts.

I also love that Not Chumlee is now a decent recurring character.

I get the feeling that at least some of the teachers know, but it's a secret from the students. Probably the teachers who were around when she was a student.

Unrelatedly, those flashes of the future were pretty god drat ominous. Looks to me like Luna Nova is gonna get blown the gently caress up.

This makes sense, but I kind of wish they'd checked back in with her at the end of the episode, the script just kind of forgot about her as soon as she read the plot-relevant knowledge.

I was under the impression that the first shots - where it's showing fairy professor - are the past, and the second shots were the future. Sure looks that way, with the imagery of many demons, the tower and surrounding land covered in forest juxtaposed with modern rioters, the city (not Luna nova, but the city) in flames, and...
