I'm quite certain that Ciampa is going to turn on Gargano very soon. Gargano beat him in the CWC after Gargano showed compassion for his buddy, Gargano lost the match for them at Takeover, and NXT has a spot opening for a new rampaging violent heel now that Joe is likely getting the call up. I think that the tag name that Ciampa chose is even subtle foreshadowing so that he can say, "Do it yourself, not ourselves" because relying on another person didn't work out for him. If NXT was truly dedicated to pro wrestling, the angle will be started at Johnny's wedding (real or fake).

Good main event tonight. Authors of Pain are better than I expected because they actually are imposing and can move in the ring. Best TM61 has looked so far as well imo. That tope from Shane Thorn was absolutely insane.

Sanity's entrance is pretty cool, but I didn't find the tag team intimidating in anyway. Sawyer Fulton is huge but he's halfway between tall buff guy and overall large fat guy, so he just looks soft. Nikki Cross as an out of control wild woman should be fun and I liked that everyone treated her as the most dangerous of the team. Buddy Murphy better a singles push going. Dude deserves so much better and I was hoping he'd just destroy Blake. The brawl at the end was awesome. I love a good pull-apart and both guys just slowly destroying all of security made ruled.

Tonight featured a lot of poor people having their lives wrecked. Tommaso Ciampa seemed offended by the very existence of Ho Ho Lun. Peyton destroyed Liv with that kick. And Asuka might have suplexed Thea Trinidad's soul out of her body. I loved it all.

I think that part of it is how Roddy ended his time on the indies. He was mostly treading water in ROH and PWG is a niche product without huge distribution. So he didn't come in with the buzz of all the NJPW guys or the decade of dreaming behind Joe in WWE. We also just saw a huge influx of names with the Cruiserweight Classic so nothing is shocking.

Cedric Alexander has the best CW treatment right now. He gets to appear on Raw for wider exposure but he also has a storyline on NXT so he gets to be on a competently made wrestling show as well.

Various thoughts: No Way Jose is the best prospect in NXT. Joe/Dillinger was really good and I enjoy Joe talking poo poo while murdering someone. Lita wasn't a bad commentator on Heat so maybe she'll be better calling a tourney than pretending to care about a preshow. The Authors of Pain should probably never do that powerbomb spot again because it's sort of a blind throw for the second one and that fencing response is horrifying.

That main event felt way clipped with the commercial break and suddenly both guys being so worn out. Definitely the weakest of their three matches. At least they are getting the rematches out of the way and setting up a new contender. Damo being in Sanity is whatever but I swear to Satan, if they put Tommy End in that dead end of a stable, they are just burning money.
