If your sick, make the trip to Houston, It's literally the best in the world, otherwise, it's like 88 at night and many parts are dangerous with anything smaller than 9mm. Maybe I just don't know what goes on anymore, but theme parks are gone and the Astro's can't win and the last football I saw there had the Oilers and Bum Philips. They do have fine restaurants. Galveston has become overcrowded and the water has that brain eating amoeba. I might recommend going out on a rent-a-boat to go deep sea fishing if that's your thing. If the heat doesn't bother you and you don't mind being called a white mofo craker and wise cracks to your wife about what they want to do to her, Go ahead. Most of the trip will be at 5mph memorizing the guy in front of you's license number. Throw a dart at a map, you'll do better.
