What is everybody else up to?

Recording and editing mostly.

I did re-download AC4 to get some pirating going on and... it runs like arse on my 970. I'm talking 40fps with a few options tuned down, no idea what's up with that since my 660 could handle it perfectly. Not really going to lose sleep over it if I can't find a solution though, I've already played a lot of it.

The problem is very likely driver related, I can assure you of that.
Most likely, but I probably won't bother researching it too much, if a bit of googling and fiddling with settings doesn't fix it I'll go back to working on my backlog. :v:

I do not miss the recording and editing LP processes at all lol, that poo poo took for-fuckin-ever and was boring as hell.

AC4 is one of the two AC games I'm actually interested in trying, I've heard it's a pretty good game. I doubt I could run it though, and even if I could, I don't think I'd want to sink any time into it at this moment in time, too many other games I'm working my way through.
I like it! Recording is the most stressful part since if I screw something up, a conversation doesn't trigger correctly or I forget to show something or pick up a collectible I need to either start over again or start looking for places to cut the video without it being too obvious or breaking flow.

I'm quite enjoying the actual editing and subtitling process; it gives me an excuse to experiment with video editing and learn the tools. The real bummer is encoding and uploading something, sometimes it takes longer than the actual work I put into an update.

/edit: ahahaha, fuuuuuuuuuuck. I finished typing that and realised that updating the video driver for the AC4 issue made my sub program crash, I lost 2/3s of my next update. :negative:

Oh man, I was checking Dragon Quest Builders after seeing the chat here and it looked really sweet and I was getting all worked up and went to check prices and...

It's not on PC.

I'm interested in hitman go, but what's with the in-app purchases? Is it the full game and the purchases are dumb stuff like hints, or is it "episodic" and I only get a handful of levels with the "base" game?

Cheers, I grabbed both Hitman and TR.

First google result I got:

"The best part of the IAP in Hitman GO is that it is completely optional; you do not need hints to complete the game (if you're that stuck, Google it)"
I checked the store description but didn't even think of googling it. :saddowns:

Ugh I just finished Bioshock Infinite for the first time. That poo poo was gooooood. Although somewhat rushed in the ultimate plot reveals/twists, but hey. Also it sucks that Ken Levine isn't going to make any more games on this scale, what a douchebag, caring about his personal life.
Are there any other modern first person games out there that come close to Infinite in terms of narrative, characters etc.? I haven't really kept up with the big single player releases. I know there are good 3rd person things like Witcher 3..

Well... you could try Metro: Last Light; I've heard nothing but good things about it.

Hey Wolfenstein: TNO actually looks quite intriguing, thanks people!

TNO is super good. Both Metro Redux for 6 is a loving steal.

If it's Red Dead Remastered and they don't announce a PC port I'm flying over to Rockstar HQ and burning the loving place down.

Has anyone played the Metro games/are they good (Metro Redux is on sale on PS4 for £9.50 which seems like a good deal)

They're really good. I'm biased though. :v:

I have to add though that I can imagine some parts of Last Light being difficult if you're not really used to playing FPSes with a controller. What I have in mind are the spiderbug sections.

It's not that bad, honestly; my first time through LL I played with a controller since I was playing from my couch and I don't remember any section being particularly hard, even the spiderbug ones.
