Kalli posted:Last year it was a complete trainwreck, and the Patriots have had a declining offensive line for like the last 4 years running, but compensated for that by Brady just throwing the ball faster and faster to mostly mitigate it unless they're facing the Broncos with a 4th string tackle against Von Miller. They really haven't had a respectable deep passing game since the days of Light and Mankins, and while some of that is Brady's shortcomings throwing it deep, I think the drop off in line play also bears responsibility. Yeah, they use to have Randy Moss, but Brady could also sit back in an adirondack and enjoy some sweet tea while he made up his mind who to throw to.

quote:"I try to put myself in Tony's shoes. I'm sure Tony wants to play. I mean, he doesn't want to get injured, he wants to be productive, but you have to look at the dynamics right now," Favre said on Sirius XM on Tuesday. "And (the Cowboys) really are hitting on all cylinders. So, this is hypothetically thinking, if you are Tony you say, 'You know what, as much as I want to play, I don't want to press the issue.' I want to play but I'm going to let it play out right now and it is probably better if Dak starts struggling and then they bring me in rather than they put me in and then all of a sudden we're not hitting on all cylinders and everyone's like, 'Ah, they should have got rid of Tony, blah, blah.' Et tu Brett?

There will almost certainly be a corresponding drop-off in production/increase in struggles for both teams, and it may naturally create a good situation for bringing Romo back. True. But I love Favre giving advice that he would never, ever, ever, ever, ever have taken.

Every Tannehill dropback against the Titans. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fb2BbZsCsm4 - Pass blocking not as bad as advertised. Yes, they blew it completely sometimes. Other times Tannehill has a pocket and then panics and steps the wrong way into a sack. He is pretty lousy at sensing pressure. There were plays where a sack could have easily been avoided if he just stepped up in the pocket instead of being completely oblivious. - Tannehill exacerbates bad pass blocking with slow reads and a fairly slow release. - Throws a lot of check downs early in the game even when not under pressure. - Doesn't usually throw it where receiver can make a play on the ball, which he needs to do because... - Receivers are not physical enough, not fighting for balls, also dropping easy catches. - Christ how many plays that involve throwing to someone five yards behind the LOS do the Dolphins need to call??? If you watched the games this season though Rodgers just hasn't really looked right. He's always been able to make amazingly ridiculous throws from body positions that no other quarterback in the league could do. This year, he's been really off target on most of those types of scramble throws. I almost wonder if this is just him getting older.
