So if you know SQL but are tired of doing OLTP or whatever you can make the switch to a big data job fairly easily. yeah I finagled my way on to the riak time series project and ended up doing a lot of the sql parser work, and that's why I have a 1400 page PDF of sql syntax specs still lying around
