Wish there was a sale on the digital copy since I don't live in the US but that's still full price.

I'm not too far in the game but I'll summarize what I assume are the plot points the game wants you to know from Kingsglaive if you want to know but not watch it.
Some of this happens in the next story quest, so maybe read it after that if you want it to be a surprise.

The king wanted the marriage to take place outside the city so he sends Noct to where it was supposed to take place (begining of the game), but for some reason Lunafreya is brought to the city
The peace treaty was a trap, the empire kills the king and steals the magic crystal powering the city
Lunafreya escapes the city with the king's ring, the empire wants the ring.
The ring gives the wearer crazy magic powers, but kills anyone "unworthy" who wears it (presumably those of not royal blood)
Lunafreya wants to get the ring to Noct

Also the king just loans his magic powers to people, I guess this explains how only Noct can craft/draw magic and he just gives them to his friends to use in neat little balls.

You can hear Prompto say "I wish I could warp" some times, so Noctis probably warps them when necessary but they can't use it themselves. My bet is also on the king can do it because he has the ring, thus far more power to lend out then Noctis's natural talents, which I guess is limited to letting his friends pull weapons out nowhere.

They're listed on the map screen. Also if you didn't figure it out yet you can sprint forever if you press the sprint button again near when its about to run out.

Is Noctis invulnerable when your teammates are doing their silly special attacks?

Yep.

The combat gets a lot more fun once you get the hang of it, use the shifting/dodge roll a lot. Most enemies have really clear tells when they're doing an attack so just preemptively hold square when you notice something.

In various videos of this I've seen some high class food porn of Ignis actually making the dish or whatev

Is that actually a thing in game or what

You can see the finished dish when he's done cooking it. You can only cook at camp sites.
You can actually get the car into a shape you can't drive it anymore and it has to get towed, I believe. I never bothered to try it out.

I don't care what length the episodes are.

Also now that you've found some Royal Arms I'll point out that simply equipping one gives stat boosts (accept the axe, which lowers your defense iirc). So it's a good idea to have one on even if you don't plan on using it.

It's actually a game on the NES from 1986, they're doing a remake for phones which was supposed to be released in 2016

This is the only FF game that I've finished after 7 (not counting 14 I guess). I even got my one and only platinum trophy from this game. For all it's flaws I thought it was still a really fun game and I would recommend it to others. Maybe not at full price, though.

Just let Kuvo do all the combat. At least you finally figured out you can potion yourself, now if you only figured out elixirs give you back MAX HP.

I think this kinda comes up in one of the optional/"secret" in game conversations that triggers if you rest at a certain hotel/inn.

Well apparently the game broke even on development costs on the first 24 hours and has since sold 6.5 million copies (13 sold 6.6), so it's not like it didn't make them money.

He can't put it on his finger as this could happen (spoilers for the Kingsglaive movie) if the bunch of ancient kings in the ring find him unworthy of their power.

You can really tell they had to stitch this together from the corpses of a thousand trailers.

The most of the rest of the game is a literal railroad trough the rest of the plot.

Also I wanna know who thought it'd be a valuable addition to the game to have the dudes complain at you at regular intervals. Because I can't see how that could possibly improve the experience in any way.

This is probably the worst part of the game just for this in my opinion. And if you choose the leave Ignis behind he still comes along and you have to go slow or Gladio will yell at you.

3-4 hours but that was at near max level after doing every dumb quest . So it may be a bit more for them.

Unless its been made better in patches since I played, there's that one section that might take these guys a while to get trough.

I can't believe that playing trough the new and optional section made you skip the original one, what the hell. I thought it would just continue from where you slept.
At least I got to see the new content, I guess.

I think the World of Ruin was meant to be a playable section where you get to explore the world, but now you just ride to Hammerhead and go off to the final "dungeon"

Noctis died to end the eternal night and stop the demons, yes. The photo reveal scene is some kind of afterlife thing (since Luna is there, who is also dead).
The ending may have made slightly more sense if you've seen the movie, the ring has the spirits of all the previous kings in it and I guess Noctis took all their powers to finally fully kill Ardyn/stop the star plague thing.

Been waiting for the ending photo choice since the start of the LP, you didn't disappoint.

Also I'm an idiot who liked this game.

Yeah, you would think that they coulda come up with a better conceit to justify getting better gear than a dude hawking magic swords out of the back of his truck. The dudes can literally magic weapons into existence for gently caress's sake.

They're just putting the weapons in a bag. Expect the bag is a magical dimension or something.

Adamantoise is incredibly boring and tedious, it's not even changeling and lasts for about 5 times as long as it needs to.
