LordAba posted:Fun fact about dropzone commander and most CMoN mini games (Wrath of Kings and Dark Age): they hold tournaments to gauge balance in their armies and make minor corrections to things. They are also really good games with good backgrounds that are fun. In fact, the balance makes them MORE fun because you accidentally didn't pick the "joke" faction (see Orks/Tyranids) so you can stand a chance to win in a game. Weird and unnatural.

I remember the trait system. There were major and minor traits and drawbacks. Everyone took the drawback that stopped you taking allies because in 4th noone ever took allies. Ever. Free trait!

Its easy to make articulated models when its all just flat panels with no detail on. I picked up a himock for the scale modelling thread challenge and I do not understand the hype at all.

You picked the most basic kit made in the last ten years at the scale with the least detail and don't understand why the cooler ones are cool I was reading this thread through the boom boom boom times. I read up on a few dozen pages of the gunpla thread. I've seen enough for a lifetime. I still don't get it. It's ok not to like things.

Avenging Dentist posted:I think his point is "I don't like how the robits look." Yes, this is exactly it. I think they look like cheap action figures because they're large flat expanses of coloured plastic. I like the ones that have been made into dioramas or whatever and have been painted. I just do not get the attraction to $200 happy meal toys. vs No ammount of "but but but they have multie types of plastic on one sprue and a fully articulated skeleton " changes that.

You're being incredibly disingenuous. Lots of people spend hundreds of dollars on them and just snap them together on a stand with their transparent glowy lego swords. I'm not saying people don't put a ton of time into them and paint them (I said as much several posts ago) but those don't get posted here much.
