lol, you remember how vietnam totally reconciled populist nationalism with foreign imperial exploitation and the bootlickers who profited from it and how that reconciliation came about through an appeal to decorum and a balance and exchange of interests and not total war?

Just because they’re trying to rig the election doesn’t mean they’re going to succeed. I realize 2016 broke all of our brains, but there are legitimate reasons to believe 2020 isn’t going to work out that way. I feel like the reasons for that optimism are better suited for the Polliwonks thread, but suffice to say, things aren’t looking great for Tromp, even with the voter suppression and court shenanigans.

they succeeded in 2000 and 2004.

So... just based on your bypassing on my reply, guessing that’s a “No” on the bet, then.

yeah, I don't consider the odds to really be decisive either way. knowing that the republican party has stolen two of the past five elections isn't some kind of hot insider tip, it's just what they do.

if you want to send some money to a good cause don't let a wager over whether the party hates trump enough to not gently caress with vote tallies slow you down.

It's weird how much the red parts of Oregon hate Kate Brown. Her reponse to COVID has been tepid at best, but lots of folks hate her with a fiery passion. Oregon hasn't gone nearly far enough. So far, it seems like we've escaped the worst case scenarios through sheer luck.

they hated her long before covid

it would be extremely funny if this rich idiot managed to kill residency requirements, though it seems unlikely
it's not hard to actually establish residency in a state, but owning property certainly doesn't do it

the only thing left for rich people to squander their money on now is achievements. if you secure governorship of a state you don't meet the residency requirements for, you get a 100 rich people point achievement. simultaneous governance of washington oregon and california is worth 800rpp
