Alzheimers is the god drat worst. Years on an ambulance so I saw some poo poo and it didn't bother me, even the periodic mental reviews of mortality and thinking "that could be me" weren't bad when it was physical stuff like losing a leg or something. Like, sure it would really suck and all but I would still be ME to deal with the suck.

Five minutes in an Alzheimers ward and I would be skeeved the gently caress out for DAYS. I can seriously not get one patient out of my head because as we're bundling her up for transport she asks me who I am and I answer her, then she asks the woman next to me and the answer was the most depressed, mechanical "I'm your daughter mom".

Wife has a subscription to Prime and has been trying to get me to watch their shows. I'm still catching up on Netflix after two and a half weeks of rebuilding my desktop in between work days. Castlevania was awesome, looking forward to more of that. Glow is next, Agents of Shield to catch up on. Once I'm done, what's good on Prime?

Netflix, and I rather liked it. They took the "hey, we're not broadcast TV" thing and loving ran with it. Lots of neat little call outs to the video games if you've played through them too.

Nowhere near affordable of course, it's basically a stick of SSD memory you plug directly into the motherboard for obscenely fast read speeds.

New system worked for the weekend then the similarly aged power supply poo poo itself on Monday so I'm waiting on more parts. Wouldn't be surprised if that caused the old mobo to die either.

I liked it for what I got to do with it over the weekend and the overclocking tools are really cool. I will be tinkering with them for weeks probably. Do need to get into BIOS and turn off all the ridiculous LEDs all over the motherboard.

If it's Comcast do not not not at all ever use their loving modems. That Xfinity poo poo is piggy backing on your network to give them free coverage and capacity. Even if it had 100% physically isolated hardware I'd still be bugging the gently caress out about security implications but it'll be a cold day in hell before I believe those cheap fuckers would pay extra for that.

As far as I'm concerned any network with a router running Xfinity is compromised from the ground up and you're paying for the privilege. gently caress anything Comcast says to the contrary, they don't give a rotting rat's rear end about you or your security.

I have a Facebook just for keeping in touch with a few people I liked and check it like once a week but there is no way in hell I'll ever, ever let that poo poo touch my phone. OK so you are comparing values within A, B and C and they're not strictly boolean true/false. Nested parenthesis, I tend to space them out a lot to make sure I can wrap my head around it. Can get crazy complicated if you let it run away with you

Long hair cat owner solidarity. We have a really tiny pair of scissors (wife calls them cuticle scissors like I'm supposed to know what that means) and they really help with this. Also making it a two-person lightly armored job but if that isn't your default condition in dealing with an unhappy cat you have nobody to blame but yourself.
