There were cookies on your ship?

Edit: We had a CS2 that could make some bomb cinnamon rolls, unfortunately, WEPS decided that since he was on mids all deployment to he should have fresh cinnamon rolls every morning. So after about a month of awesome rolls, they started tasting like onions. After a week of onion flavored rolls they went away forever.
Similar thing happened with anything decent that came out of the galley though.

I guess cookies did show up for meals in port. Most of the time underway I only ate breakfast and MIDRATS. Breakfast could be ok if you got in line quick enough, but lol, gently caress you if you have to eat MIDRATS.

It's not MIDRATS if it's not a single loaf of stale white bread and a jar of jelly, no peanut butter, maybe some leftover french fries or two hot dogs if you are in the filipino mafia.

The 68008 is 8MHZ??? If I remember correctly. I think it was developed in the late 70's or early 80's, and it was slow when it was introduced.

I wouldn't be surprised if the rationale was along the lines of "if we put out all three at the same time, people will make PBJ and eat all of it. If we put them out separately, the demand goes way down and the supplies last longer". I heard the same mindset with good cereal that was hidden away: "if we just put it out on the racks, people will eat it!"

First deployment I went on the night baker made the mistake of making cinnamon rolls one night for the mid watch rotation. Turns out that the dept. heads really liked them, so they started demanding them every night. Was pretty nice since mid rats was usually inedible. Dude got tired of making the, though, so he started letting them proof with chopped up onions or something. They smelled great, but tasted like stale onions so the demand for them eventually went away.

Second deployment one of the cooks made really good chicken parms, but they got too popular so the CS's had to invent ways to gently caress them up, like making the breading soggy, or not putting breading on them, or overcooking them, or not putting cheese on them.

Man, gently caress CS's....

Hi soon to be booter. Don't go NUC, stay AECF or find a rate with a 4 year commitment that looks cool.

I did the AECF thing, it worked out pretty well for the most part. My recommendation would be to aim for the ET side of the house, lots more duty station choices in the long run, as well as more chances to get follow on schools.

FC side can be cool, but most of the C schools are going to pigeon hole you to a specific platform, so if you go that way choose carefully.

If you have any specific questions ask away. I've been out for 6 years so my info is probably out of date, but there is a goon that posts in here that was an A school instructor in GL and I'm sure there are other dudes that can chime in as well.

All the retired chiefs petitioned hard to get assigned parking, so the parking right outside was GS-12 and above and GS 11 and below got a lot down a hill. Well it turns out most of the retired Chiefs are 11s or lower, so they all went into the Commander's office to persuade him that the parking should be ordered by PRIOR NAVY RANK. Parking is now on a first come basis.

Lots of retired Chief's like to put Retired Chief/Senior Chief/Master Chief on their signature lines, as if a single one of us cares.

Maybe Pneumonic can fact check me, but I'm pretty sure the CS's just had a crank put whatever garbage they wanted out for midrats, and that's all you got until morning. I remember lots of over cooked hot dogs, stale bread and peanut butter, milk that was warmer than the cereal you were putting it on... and I think I blocked out the rest. It was awful, I feel like the galley actively worked against us most of the time.
