Mechwarrior online is pretty heavy for whalers.

It got better but not by much.

Ghost heat I understand, at least they have the values for it now. Most of the higher tier games are full of people who can destroy you in one or two volleys. Ghost heat was a solution to that but the real solution is more balanced mechs with less power creep.

But you can't do that when you target whales.

Oh yah, new mechs can be preordered where you don't know their stats, you can upgrade your packages, and it can go for somewhere around 70 or 100 dollars for what is essentially who loving knows

Like look at this poo poo

I mean I've enjoyed the few weeks I put into MWO so far but more and more flaws just keep appearing.

Shogun 2 is probably a bit better.

And at the moment, total warhammer is probably the best total war since it gets around the problems of 1000 different spear dudes.

Here is a dumb stupid thing.

Monster hunter is a good game. There is a game like that called Dauntless that happens to be f2p and recently entered opened beta.

The queue to enter are like 90,000 people in front of you, check back whenever.

So someone modded the launcher to skip the queue.

All it took is bypass_queue = True

I remember hearing bad things about 3 at the start but I don't know how bad it was.

But I started to align my self with malevolence, which gave me the option to take scientists and force them to research until they died providing a big boost for 1 turn, but that took a resource that I didn't have so I had to use my shipyard to send out exploration missions to get it.

That part is really neat.

I have enjoyed everything but ship design so far.

So a friend of mine never played a skill based mmo before and didn't get the idea of a classless system.

Some how we all got onto project gorgon, a 2 person game that feels more like runescape or eq1. It is pretty much an old mud with some visual poo poo. It looks bad, plays bad, but oh boy does it have some weird poo poo about it.

If you transform into an animal, you might be stuck in that form for a long time but it gives you new powers. It also may gently caress up anything you type.

That is a werewolf that has random words replaced by howl.

A friend is a spider and he just randomly says eeeeeeeee constantly.

People can craft cheese or beer, but you have to get the materials and put it in a cave and let it age properly. If you put a cask of beer in town, anyone can drink from it, it slurs their speech, and it might kill them. You can die of alcohol poisoning.

It has a lot of dumb neat quirks, but looks and runs like poo poo and is over priced for what it is. But god drat are we enjoying it.

The first boss in the game has a big head. Every boss you die to, will curse you until you kill that boss. That guy makes your head big, literally, you gain more mana, and you can't wear head gear.

https://www.forbes.com/sites/insertcoin/2018/06/01/in-six-months-fortnite-battle-royale-has-cut-pubgs-pc-playerbase-in-half/#5cdb30cb1a5c

quote:

PUBG was king of the world in January, where it broke every Steam record there was with 3.2 million concurrent players. But since then, the game has been on a downward trajectory, losing about half of its PC population in the months since. The game now gets about ~1.5 million players during peak times on Steam, and that is continuing to fall.

Fortnite, meanwhile, has been a juggernaut. For a while it seemed like both games would be content to grow simultaneously, but the last few months have shown that PUBG’s loss is Fortnite’s gain. While Epic doesn’t release stats all that often, last we heard Fortnite had 40 million players with 3.4 million concurrents. But that was months ago and well before its peak, not that we’re sure the game has even peaked yet, and the latest figures are presumably much, much higher than that.

It is the graphics and lower barrier to entrance, but at the same time why would all these pubg players switch to fortnite if they already bought pubg? To play a game with cartoony graphics?

I mean yah, a dollar entry fee plus loot boxes probably made them a lot of cash. At the same time players are switching to a free, cartoony game with no loot boxes but only cosmetics. There has to be another reason.
