It takes place in a future where everyone has a device called a "stack" attached to their brain and it is basically a backup brain. If you die your stack is read and reuploaded into a new body. They also use the stack for interstellar travel since they can use it to transfer a mind across space instead of expending the effort to send a body. That sounds pretty cool You should watch Dollhouse.
